1. Introduction (引子): 通常是根据标题联想。
以前我比较忽略这个环节,每次都匆匆带过,其实这个环节的适当展开,有利于孩子对后续课文的理解深度。
通常课本里也会有:Talk about it这样的提示。
如果孩子没有思路,可以提示她看图。What are the men in the picture doing?
They are pouring water on a whale. Why do they do this? They want to help the sick whale. 说不出来也没事,用中文描述也可以。What else do you think that people can help the animals when they are sick?
我儿子当年回答很搞笑,他实在想不出,我让他想象,假如他有个狗狗,在狗狗生病的时候,他会怎样照顾狗狗?
他回答:I will send him to the animal hospital to see the doctor.
I nodded with smile: Well, that helps.
估计他也只能想到这么多了。
孩子们的回答可以是五花八门的,启发思路就好。
a. 你读一遍,孩子跟读一遍。
b. 你给出英语解释,直到孩子可以完全理解。
c. 你给出例句,让孩子明白这个词使用的语境。其实课文中有例句的,可以参考
d. 让孩子模仿你的例句,尝试造句。
加州为了让孩子能吃透这些new words,旁边都已一篇短文跟进的。
看看这个故事,看它的描述多么充实。
对于基础比较好的孩子,可以直接让他尝试朗读课文。看到要求吗,是要考验孩子总结的能力。
可以设计几个问题帮助孩子总结这篇故事。
1)What happened to this whale?
2) Who helped this whale? How did they help it?
3) If the scientist Jenny didn\'t help the whale, what kind of trouble the whale will have?
接下来,Main selection部分到了。
上来总是文体介绍,这是我的弱项,我也不展开了,因为不知道如何展开。
Non fiction,就是那些真实发生的故事,非小说。
但是我们可以看看这头小海狮

动词:drink, dive, catch
在给孩子朗读课文的时候,可以使用肢体语言来表现动词的丰富含义。如果有时间,也可以把这些动词加入生词列表,让孩子造句。
扩展提问根据课文展开:
1)What do the seals eat?
2) Why did the mother of seal pup have to leave her baby?
3) What do you think will happen next?(对后文进行预测)
