Somewhere, hidden amongst thorny brambles, is a Little Kingdom of Elves and Fairies.

Everyone who lives here is very very small...

BEN: I’m Ben Elf! (HORN Toot!) (Gaston: Bark! Bark!)

HOLLY: And I’m Princess Holly! (Gaston: Bark!)

HOLLY: Hee hee!  Come on, let’s play!

BEN: Wait for us! (GASTON’S WINGS BUZZ)

BEN & HOLLY: Hee hee!

Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom!

Today’s adventure starts at the Little Castle.

Queen Holly!

KING: Children, your mother and I are going away for the day on royal business.

QUEEN: Which means you will be at home, alone with Nanny Plum.

HOLLY, DAISY & POPPY: Ooh!

NANNY: Everything will be fine, your Majesty.

KING: So no funny business! I don’t want to come home to find the Kingdom covered in frogs or jelly or anything.

HOLLY, DAISY & POPPY: No Daddy.

KING: Because while we’re away, you represent King and Queen Thistle.

HOLLY: Does that mean I can be Queen?

KING: Ha ha ha! Well, I suppose it does!

QUEEN: Just for today!

HOLLY: Brilliant!

KING: Magic car, drive on! (MAGIC WAND TINKLES)

KING & QUEEN: Bye!

QUEEN: Be good!

HOLLY, DAISY & POPPY: Bye bye! Hee hee hee!

HOLLY: Queen Holly! Hmm. I like the sound of that! (MAGIC WAND TINKLES)

HOLLY: Ahem. (posh voice) Hellooo! I’m Queen Holly.

DAISY & POPPY: Hee hee hee!

(DOOR BELL)

NANNY: Oh! Hello Ben!

BEN: Hello Nanny Plum! Can Holly come out to play?

NANNY: I’m afraid Holly’s much too busy to play today. She has a kingdom to run!

BEN Huh? 

HOLLY: Ben! Come up here! Quick!

BEN: Okay! 

(PORTCULLIS OPENING)

BEN: Hee hee hee! Hi Holly! 

HOLLY: Queen Holly to you! 

BEN: What? 

HOLLY: Mummy and Daddy have gone on A trip today, and left me in charge of the whole Kingdom! 

BEN: Wow! 

HOLLY: So I’m Queen Holly!

(BELL) 

NANNY: Hello! 

WISE OLD ELF: Hello, Nanny Plum, I’ve come to collect Ben Elf. It’s time for school.

NANNY: Okay, I’ll just...

HOLLY: Nanny! Send the Wise Old Elf up, I’ll sort this out!

NANNY: (calling) Very well, your Majesty!

(SFX: KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK) (HOLLY Enter!) 

WISE OLD ELF: Hello, Princess Holly!

HOLLY: I’m not Princess Holly. I am Queen Holly today!

WISE OLD ELF: I’ve got no time for these fun and games! I’ve come to collect Ben Elf for school.

BEN: Oh! 

HOLLY: Wait Ben! Mummy and Daddy are away today, so I am in charge of the whole kingdom!

WISE OLD ELF: Is this true, Nanny Plum?

NANNY: I’m afraid so.

HOLLY: And I have just decided that Ben does not have to go to school today. It’s the law.

WISE OLD ELF: Well, this is most unusual!

HOLLY: In fact, they’ll be no school For anyone today! 

WISE OLD ELF: No school for anyone?!

HOLLY: Yes! It’s the law! Because I am Queen Holly!

WISE OLD ELF: Er! As you wish, Queen Holly! 

BEN & HOLLY: Hee hee hee!

WISE OLD ELF: Oh dear! The children will be most upset when they hear the news.

WISE OLD ELF: Children, I’m afraid Queen Holly has informed me there will be no school today.

ELF CHILDREN: Hooray! Hooray!

HOLLY: What’s that noise?

ELF CHILDREN: Hooray! Hooray! No school! 

BARNABY: Thank you, oh wise Queen Holly!

 ELF CHILDREN: Hooray, hooray!

HOLLY: Shush! Today shall be a Holiday for everyone! Even grown ups!

BEN: Even the Wise Old Elf!

 HOLLY: And Nanny Plum!

NANNY & WISE OLD ELF: Oh!

HOLLY: No one’s allowed to work. It’s the law!

WISE OLD ELF: But what shall we do all day?!

BEN & HOLLY: Er...

BEN: Play games!

HOLLY: Yes! You’ve got to play games and be happy! Because I am Queen Holly!

(MAGIC WAND TINKLES) (SFX: POP!)

ELF CHILDREN, DAISY & POPPY: Thank you, Queen Holly!

(ELF TRUCK DRIVING)

MRS ELF: Right Mr Elf, next on the list, a delivery of food for the Little Castle!

MR ELF: Right-ho Mrs Elf! Gosh, what a busy day!

MRS ELF: Yes! But Elves like being busy. And we’re Elves!

(ELF HORN TOOT) (CHILDREN: Hee hee!)

MR ELF: Make way! Elf at work!

JAKE: There’s no work today, Mr Elf!

STRAWBERRY: It’s a holiday!

MR ELF: Is this true, Wise Old Elf?!

WISE OLD ELF: (Pant, pant pant!) I’m afraid so!

MR ELF: But I’ve got an urgent delivery of food, for the Little Castle!

WISE OLD ELF: I suggest you come back tomorrow!

MR ELF: Righy-ho! Bye!

CHILDREN: Bye!

(TUMMY RUMBLE)

BARNABY: Talking of food, I’m getting a bit hungry!

(TUMMY RUMBLE)

STRAWBERRY: Me too!

OTHER CHILDREN: And me, and me!

ALL: Queen Holly! We’re hungry!

HOLLY: Very well! I command you to eat something!

HOLLY: Hee hee! Being Queen is easy-peasy!

BARNABY: But no one has made any food! Everyone’s on holiday.

BEN & HOLLY: Oh!

WISE OLD ELF: Queen Holly, if you would allow the Elves back to work, we could make everyone lunch!

HOLLY: No no! You all have to have A nice day’s holiday! It’s the Law!
ALL: But we’re hungry! We need food!

HOLLY: Er...I’ll make food!

(ALL Hooray!)

HOLLY: Now! What do you eat on holiday?

BEN: Ice cream!

HOLLY: Yes! That’s it!

HOLLY: You shall all eat ice cream!

ALL: Hooray! Thank you Queen Holly!

BEN: Where are we going?

HOLLY: To the kitchen! We can use Nanny Plum’s cauldron, to make the ice cream!

BEN: Oh! Are you going to make the ice cream with magic?

HOLLY: Of course I am!

BEN: But Holly! Your spells don’t always work out quite right!

HOLLY: Making ice cream is easy-peasy! Watch! (MAGIC WAND TINKLES)

HOLLY: Abracadee, abraca-bong. Er, ice cream for everyone, all day long!

(SFX: POP, POP, POP!)

HOLLY: See! It worked!

BEN: Wow! Ice creams for everyone!

CHILDREN: Ooh, thank you!

BEN: I’ll be back with more!

(SFX: POP! POP! POP!)

BEN: Oh, there’s quite a lot! Will it stop soon?

HOLLY:  Er...I think I told it to make ice cream all day long!

BEN: Oh dear! 

QUEEN: Ah. We’ll soon be home!

KING: Yes! And it’s good to see that the Kingdom hasn’t been flooded with frogs or jelly or anything!

QUEEN: Yes! Holly must be behaving herself!

HOLLY: Aaaah! There’s too many ice creams!

BEN: Make it stop Holly! Make it Stop!

HOLLY: Er...ziggidy ziggidy zop, stop stop STOP!

(SFX: GLOOOOP!)

BEN & HOLLY: AAaaaaaah!

(SFX: KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK)

BARNABY: Oi! Where’s our ice cream!

BEN & HOLLY: Aaaah!

(SFX: GLOOP! ) (ALL Gasp!) 

NANNY: Goodness me!

HOLLY: (Pant, pant!) I did try to stop it Nanny, but it got worse!

NANNY: Well thank goodness the King and Queen aren’t here to see all this mess!

(SFX: BEEP BEEP!)

STRAWBERRY: It’s the King & QUEEN

EVERYONE: Hooray!

KING: It’s very nice of you all to welcome us home like this!

WISE OLD ELF: May I be the first to say how pleased we are to see you back again, your Majesties!

WISE OLD ELF: While you were away...

KING: Yes yes! I’m a bit tired, so if you’ll excuse me...

NANNY: Ahh! Stop! Uh...maybe you should go for a little walk your Majesty!

I’ve just got a bit of tidying up to do inside.

KING: Thank you Nanny Plum, but all I want to do now is have a nice bath!

(SFX: SPLURGE!) (ALL Gasp!)

KING: Whoooa!

EVERYONE: Aaaaaah!

KING: Ah! Ice cream!

HOLLY: I’m sorry Daddy, it’s all my fault! I tried to be a good Queen and make everybody happy, but it’s a lot harder than you’d think!

KING: Ha ha! Yes Holly, I know it is! (whispering) Especially with Elves. Elves are never happy.

WISE OLD ELF: Ahem! We are happy, when we Are busy! 

MR ELF: Elves like being busy!

ALL EVLES: And we’re Elves (SFX: ELF HORNs TOOT)

KING: Ha ha. In that case I command you to go back to work at once.

ALL ELVES: Hooray!

KING: And your first job will be to clean up all this ice cream!

WISE OLD ELF: Thank you your Majesty!

MR ELF: Three cheers for King Thistle!

BEN: And Queen Holly!

ALL: Hip hip hooray! Hip hip hooray! Hip hip hooray!
