The following books by Jacqueline Wilson have been adapted for TV:

Cliffhanger (1995, Channel 4). Part of Look, See and Read, two-part drama.

Double Act (2002, Channel 4). Starring twins Zoe and Chloe Tempest-Jones as Ruby and Garnet, with a special appearance by Jacqueline Wilson as the casting director at the auditions. This was a one-off 100 minute feature.

The Story of Tracy Beaker (2002–2005, CBBC). Starring Dani Harmer as Tracy and Lisa Coleman (whose sister, Charlotte, appeared in Double Act as Miss Debenham) as Cam. Original broadcast dates: 8 January 2002 – 18 December 2005.

The Illustrated Mum (2003, Channel 4). Starring former EastEnders star Michelle Collins as Marigold Westward, who won a BAFTA Award for her role, Alice Connor as Dolphin Westward and Holly Grainger as Star Westward. This was a four-part mini-series but later shown as a full feature with no ad breaks. It was again repeated at Christmas 2004. Original broadcast date: 5 December 2003.

Best Friends (2004, ITV). This was a six-part miniseries, but was originally broadcast as one feature with a slightly different ending. It starred Chloe Smyth as Gemma and Poppy Rogers as Alice. Original broadcast date: 3 December 2004. This was repeated on the CITV Channel on 6 March 2010.

Girls in Love (ITV). Starring Olivia Hallinan as Ellie, Zaraah Abrahams as Magda and Amy Kwolek as Nadine. There have been two series of Girls in Love broadcast. Original broadcast dates: 1 April 2003 – 18 April 2005.

Dustbin Baby (BBC). Featuring an A-list cast including Juliet Stevenson as Marion, David Haig as a new character, Elliot, and Dakota Blue Richards as April. Original broadcast date: 21 December 2008.

Tracy Beaker Returns (2010). This is a current series in which Tracy returns to the "Dumping Ground" (Stowey House, whose name has been changed to Elmtree House) to earn money for her new book because she stole Cam's money to publish it.

To date, there have been no feature film adaptations of Jacqueline Wilson's novels.

此作家的书是我和书虫女小三暑假旅英探亲时才结识的，在当地书店的儿童部，Jacqueline Wilson 的书都是放在十分当眼的地方。

我们的第一本 JW 书是《Sleepovers》，此书成为书虫女的「转捩书」

之后第二本是 《Best Friends》，书虫女看得十分投入，当中提及的是女孩子的友谊。



对于开始有固定的一伙小息及课余玩伴的小学生，书虫女似乎对书中所描述朋友之间的相处，如何将不同性格及家庭背景的人整合为一小社群，及因意见或看法不同而引发的琐事的解决方法，都有共鸣。

我会看见她一边看，一边笑。




以上4本是JW 比较短篇的书 (约100页，内里有插画)，可以先以此开始，看看孩子会否也爱上JW。

上图最后一本《Cliffhanger》，主角是一个男孩子Tim，一直备受妈妈过份呵护而养成胆小性格，如何因被爸爸强迫参与一个训练营，冲破障碍，变得勇敢一点。

Clean Break is told from the point of view of Em, or Emerald as she likes to be known, and is about what happens to her mum, gran, and two half-siblings, Maxie and Vita, when the man of the house leaves them for another woman. Her mum’s second husband, Frankie, is not her real dad, but he has been Em’s dad ever since she can remember and she does not want to let him abandon them all. It’s an understandably traumatic departure.
Frankie leaves on Boxing Day morning and Em’s mum, Julie, is devastated. They all cling on to the hope that he will soon return to them, but it quickly transpires that he’s not coming back and that they’re all just going to have to deal with their new circumstances in whatever way they can. Gran just goes on criticising her daughter, which doesn’t help, but Em, Maxie and Vita find solace and comfort in their friends and heroes, real and imaginary.
Despite the story’s sad themes, Wilson always leaves the reader and her characters with the shoots of new, better beginnings and hope for the future. Like any book, its worth is in the quality of its storytelling, and fortunately this particular author is great at doing just that.

An unexceptional mix of familiar plot devices, this British import is almost gratingly obvious. Ten-year-old twins Ruby and Garnet take turns narrating, and although their voices aren't especially different, they are meant to be opposites. Ruby is outgoing, Garnet shy; Ruby leads, Garnet follows. Their mother has died long ago, and now their father has a girlfriend, whom they immediately reject. The four move from the city to the country, where the twins are desperately unhappy. Serious issues, like the burdens of twinhood and the difficulties of forging independent identities, become lost amid a surfeit of frothy subplots, including an audition for a TV show and a plan to enter a ritzy boarding school. The narration is frequently cloying, as in Ruby's comments about her father's taste for classic literature: "If we have a look at Dad's book we wonder what the Dickens they're about and they seem very Hardy, but Dad likes them." The brittle nature of Wilson's (Elsa, Star of the Shelter) writing finds its extension in her glib resolution of the conflicts, and the illustrations, rendered as if by Ruby and Garnet, are as flat and unrevealing as the story. Garnet seems to have been going along for the ride, safe in Ruby's shadow.
