Sofia the First is a television series featuring the Disney Princesses that officially premiered with its first
half-hour episode on January 11, 2013. The series pilot made its debut on the Disney Channel on Sunday, November
18th, 2012 with a one-hour special. The series stars Ariel Winter (Modern Family, Jake and the Never Land
Pirates, Phineas and Ferb) as the titular character who is a young 7-year-old girl on the verge of becoming a
princess.

It has been announced that Royal Prep, the academy that Sofia, along with other princes and princesses, attends.
It introduces Sofia, a little girl with a commoner’s background until her mother (played by Sara Ramirez from
Greys Anatomy) marries the King and suddenly she is royalty.
