CuriousGeorge《好奇的乔治》（CuriousGeorge）是儿子的最爱。好奇又调皮是孩子的天性，而这一点在绘本中以小猴子乔治的形象表现出来。乔治对任何事物都保持一颗好奇心，但他又经常无意中闯下祸。不过好在他总是吉人天相，每次闯祸都会因祸得福，坏事变成好事，成为人人称赞的小猴子。孩子喜欢这只调皮的小猴子，可能是因为描写的就是他们自己的心理和经历吧。孩子有时也会通过破坏和出格的行为获得精神的巨大满足。
Hans Augusto Rey于1939年出版了Raffy and the 9 Monkeys，这本书是Curious George系列绘本的前身。其中的Raffy后来在美国的版本中变为CecilyG.,这就是我们现在见到的CecilyG. and the Nine Monkeys。书中的主人公是一只长颈鹿和9只小猴子，其中最显眼的小猴子就是Curious George。1941年，MargareteRey和H. A. Rey夫妻二人合作，出版了Curious George。此后他们又陆续推出几个以小猴子乔治为主人公的故事。H. A. Rey去世后，Margarete Rey和其他人合作，模仿H. A. Rey的绘画风格，续写乔治的故事。这之后，由其他人模仿Rey夫妇的故事及绘画，又出版了不少系列绘本。此外还出现了动画片和相关图画书。
