1、英语世界的文字用英语读,世界文学读中文翻译版本不就行了吗?你说中文翻译质量下降;同样你也把控不了世界文学其他语言文字翻译成英语的质量。甚至更难挑选。我读法语,荷语的英译版本经常觉得别扭,荷语还好点儿,毕竟跟英语相近,有时就是作者自己写的英文版。举个简单例子,比如某小说里人物Monsieur Perdu,Perdu, 这在法语里有丢失的意思,暗指他生命中封存丢失掉的20年。翻成英语,中文都丢了这个信息。
2、启蒙的孩子年龄小,认知有限。一味谈经典文学没什么意义。你给他看小木屋的绘本还不如brown bear来得有趣。小木屋离中国孩子生活遥远,空间、时间都遥远,读给他听的大人从时间,空间和文化上也都很遥远。还不如magic Key来得有趣,正中孩子喜欢幻想的大脑。或者ProjectX带科幻性质的更有趣
3、简写的经典还是经典吗?经典之所以成为经典,一是语言,二是结构,三是内涵。简写就是阉割版;阉割得好还值得看看,阉割得不好就是白开水。比翻译作品质量还不好控制
给个例子;都是简爱,简爱最著名的台词。某著名的简写版本:

不是说不能看,浅尝即止,真要提到读“经典”的高度,还是等认知,语言能力都达到了再读不晚。

5、ORT里国人大多数接触的只是tree trunk, 就是那一家的故事,其实他是个很大的体系。

Tree Trunk我还真没怎么用,从其他的系列来看,这套书真不错,体系科学,好用,还有配套guiding。Oxford university Press出版,能在130多个国家使用,有众多粉丝不是浪得虚名。
