请教一本读物上kangaroo jump和hop的区别

今天看到一本分级读物上介绍kangaroos的,其中有两句不知道有什么区别,怎么翻译呢?Kangaroos have a big tail.The big tail helps them hop.Kangaroos can hop fast.They can jump,too.请问这里面最后两句有什么不同啊.我平时在动物世界里看到的袋鼠蹦着往前,是速度很快,这个是用HOP,那后面又说袋鼠可以jump,这又是指什么情况呢?是说袋鼠原地上下跳吗?

hop和jump有区别。hop对人来说是单脚跳，对四条腿的动物来说，是后面两条腿跳，能够hop的常见动物是rabbit，bunny （兔子）和kangaroo（大袋鼠），joey（小袋鼠）；能够jump的动物有很多，因为很多动物只能四条腿一起跳，如dog，cat，horse，elephant等。

hop对人来说指单脚跳，如指四条腿的动物，两条腿跳，如兔子，袋鼠；jump指四条腿一起跳，如狗猫等。

前几天还和孩子爸爸讨论为什么就rabbit和kangaroo的要说hop，其他的动物都说jump。多谢解惑
