小斯在2002年当选佛罗里达州篮球先生，同年在2002年NBA选秀中，小斯于第1轮第9位被菲尼克斯太阳队选中，职业生涯曾效力于菲尼克斯太阳队、纽约尼克斯队、达拉斯小牛队、迈阿密热火队以及以色列耶路撒冷夏普尔队，新秀赛季当选NBA年度最佳新秀（NBA首位高中生最佳新秀），6次入选NBA全明星阵容，2007年入选NBA最佳阵容一阵，4次入选NBA最佳阵容二阵，2016年夺得以色列联赛杯冠军。

2016年7月27日，小斯宣布从NBA退役，结束自己14年的NBA生涯。4天之后，小斯宣布将加盟以色列耶路撒冷夏普尔队（Hapoel Jerusalem）继续自己的职业生涯。同年8月4日，小斯申请加入以色列国籍。10月1日帮助夏普尔队赢得以色列篮球联赛杯。2016-17赛季入选以色列联赛全明星阵容。 赛季结束后入选欧洲杯第二阵容。2017年6月16日随耶路撒冷夏普尔队夺得2017年以色列联赛总冠军。

2017年9月2日，小斯正式宣布退役。
