从年代推理，如《007》系列的经营模式肯定或多或少对此有所借鉴。而关于小说改编的各种相关游戏、电视、电影也是层出不穷。总共有18部电脑游戏，3档长篇电视剧集，相比之下电影类的改编却少了一点。在本片前，只有4部改编电影的问世。
《南茜·朱尔》系列畅销小说出版于1930年，作者为卡罗琳·基恩。《南茜·朱尔》系列游戏号称“真正的女性游戏”，曾获得过20多个奖项，包括“父母最佳游戏金奖”、“美国家庭出版物金奖”和“少儿优秀媒体奖”。《南茜·朱尔》成为了欧美最经典的探案解谜类游戏。
但是因为语言文化的障碍，国内的玩家对她还比较陌生。该游戏一贯是以曲折离奇的故事情节见长，游戏画面极为精致华丽，对各种细节的表现也十分的突出。虽然游戏也是在一个设计好的环境中进行，但经过了数代的发展，她给予玩家个人思考的空间将更加的宽广。不过，这类游戏的致命伤依然是可复玩性不强，属于那种"一次性"的产品。
