斯坦尼斯拉夫·莱姆（Stanislaw Lem, 1921-2006）是波兰著名科幻作家、哲学家，他是20世纪欧洲最多才多艺的作家之一，也是国际公认的科幻小说天才作家。安东尼·伯吉斯称赞莱姆是“当今活跃的作家中最智慧、最博学、最幽默的——位”；库特·冯尼古特赞扬他“无论是语言的驾驭、想象力还是塑造悲剧角色的手法，都非常优秀，无人能出其右”。
莱姆一生著述甚丰。他的书被翻译成41种语言，热销2700万册。他本人因此成为最拥有最多读者群的非英语科幻作家。许多西方评论家认为，如果有一天科幻作家能够获得诺贝尔奖，此人非莱姆莫属。
莱姆于1921年9月21日出生于利沃夫(Lwów，今属乌克兰)的一个犹太医生家庭。1939年至1941年和1944年至1948年分别学习医学、哲学、科学方法学和控制论；在1941年至1944年的德国占领期间，他做过汽车装配工。刚刚毕业，他就开始了写作，先是写诗，随后又写中篇小说，自1950年起开始写长篇小说，此外还为电台和电视台写了大量作品，还有大量文学批评、哲学、控制论和科普文章。莱姆对控制论、数学、哲学等领域均有涉猎。他还是波兰宇航协会的创始人、波兰控制论协会会员、美国俄亥俄州伍斯特大学科幻小说研究会顾问。莱姆于2006年3月27日因心脏病于克拉科夫逝世，享年84高龄。
