如何用英文，帮助小宝弄明白这是怎样一个 lady 呢？--请高手指点

虽然还没有给小宝讲，整本书看过一遍，基本是名词，唯独这句，形容词句有些复杂。

如果是 And a quiet old lady who was whispering "hush"，是：“安静下来吧”安静的老妇人低声的说着。
如果是 And Goodnight to the old lady whispering "hush", 是：对轻声说着”安静吧“的老婆婆，道一句晚安。

能否帮忙解释下，

结合上一句，第二句应该是个加了形容的名词

也许是语言上的差异，这句话翻成中文，一个在说嘘的女士就行了？

这本书我记得虎妈专门开贴讲过的。作者还写了另外一本The Runaway Bunny
在The Runaway Bunny 中，故事描述的是一只兔子妈妈和一只兔子宝宝的故事。

而这个故事中，坐在房间中间的是不是就是那只兔子妈妈呢？

可以注意到，这本书里前面的句子用了很多押韵词。（我都给加粗了）。
这里用hush 其实也是为了和前面的
And a comb and a brush
And a bowl full of mush
的brush， mush押韵用的。

这个故事是一个睡前故事，为了哄孩子睡觉的哈。
大人在哄孩子睡觉的时候，都是尽量的让孩子放松，安静下来。 Hush在这里应该是指兔子妈妈在哄小兔子安静下来。

另外一首儿歌中也用到了hush, 也是哄孩子睡觉的催眠曲。
