Loves Labour Lost
This comedy by Shakespeare was written around 1595 and revolves around the King of Navarre and three of his lords, who have sworn to abstain from the sight of a woman for three years and devote themselves to study and fasting. Alas, the arrival of the princess of France and her attendants of the fairer sex obliges the King and lords to disregard their vows. Soon enough, of course, the King is in love with the Princess and his lords with her ladies. Courting, fun and merriment abound.
