As we are currently living in Japan, my son is learning Japanese a native would. One feature of his language acquisition is that he often says some offensive words or says things in an offensive way to try out my response. I will tell him that "Your words are really upsetting, and although I think you may just want to practice your language, and do not say them again. I may also tell him the reasons why his words upset me. However, I do not have the time to learn the language like him. I don't even have any time to watch Japanese TV programs. My focus is on speaking/writing down what I am thinking in a clear way, even when under pressure.
