关于Roald Dahl 的 the witches 书中的单词拼写问题

  前几天拿到Roald Dahl的书the witches , 当时是中午吃饭时书送到的，丫头拿到书，饭都没心情吃，开始看了。下午2点出门前，丫头说发现书中有不少拼写错误，我让她指给我看，果然看到有些句子中的单词 W 写成了 V，比如 wig(假发），写成了vig, while 写成了 vhile .

   当时因为急着出门上班，没多加细看，只是我心里开始打鼓： 难道我买到盗版书了？不可能呀！

   今天呆在家里无事，我把那本the witches 拿过来阅读，看到P69页的时候，终于明白不是单词拼写错误，而是这个witch 发音的问题。她总是把 W 发成 V.比如 the witch 吼道：You may rrree-moof your vigs!

   She had a peculiar way of speaking. There was some sort of a foreign accent there, something harsh and guttural, and she seemed to have trouble pronouncing the letter w.   As well as that, she did something funny with the letter r . She would roll it round and round her mouth like a piece of hot pork-crackling before spitting it out.

 

   想来丫头是没读懂这几句话的意思，所以才认为书上印刷错误，不过她能发现单词拼写错误也还不错！
