[方法探讨] 英语还是太简单：谈英语阅读

我们开始读加洲五年级的英语读物了，已经看了一个月了，一直陪孩子看着，感觉基本上孩子还是看得懂的，我自己一路陪读的感受就是觉得英语还是太简单了，读到现在，发现英语句子还是很简单的，除了少数不常用的词与人名外孩子基本都会。再想想我们中国五年级的孩子课外读物，英语算是太简单了。有点不敢想像这就是母语国家孩子的英语读物？

美国是一个移民国家，我们一直站在母语的角度来看他们的小学教材，原来是不是高估他们的深度了？{:soso_e120:}

课文不难，是Beatrix Potter 的 The Tale of Squirrel Nutkin，古登堡上有原文，这儿没法链接，吼吼。.

和中国英语最大的差别是

国外的英语学习和教材关系不大，甚至没有统一的教材，或者没有教材。人家英语主要看读了多少书，他们书是无论如何都看不完的，书单一张接一张。写作要有自己的角度和观点。

因为教材的核心不在语言本身。而是在文化历史。

孩子非常棒啊。
不过语文本身其实不难，难的是历史、地理、科学等。特别是历史。美国历史倒没什么，欧洲史那份乱哦。

美国的公立学校课内教材比较浅，很多时候是为了照顾后进生，目的就像是布什提出的“不让一个学生落后”。但是课外阅读量还是很大的，孩子要学得好，父母也是要付出巨大努力的，这点其实和国内的情况也差不多。有的公立学校有天才班，类似于国内的实验班重点班，是需要考试才能进去的，教材难度也高于普通班。除此之外，美国还有相当多的私立学校，有侧重科学的，有侧重艺术的，学习的深度广度远大于普通公立学校。
