Andy loves stories of various sorts -- Chinese stories and English ones. He can't even fall asleep without hearing stories.
Last night I read some chapters of King of the Wind (the Chinese version) , but he still insisted on some more. I laid my hand on a book of Amelia Bedelia and asked him whether he would like to hear it. He agreed, a little reluctantly, as his favorite was Chinese Stories. Having finished reading, I tucked him well and kissed him Good Night and retired.
It is really so nice for mother and son to stay in bed, reading some stories and chatting a little, our hearts so close. Andy loves story time, I even more, even though every time I have to talk myself hoarse.
Some education experts advise parents to tell stories for their kids throughout the whole elementary years. I just hope I can persist in it, leaving precious beautiful memories for my son.
