There are too much things they didn't tell each other. The family lacked of communications. Father concealed his desire of blending in, mother didn't say anything about she wanted to be a doctor. Lydia never said no to her mother in fear of losing her again, never told anyone that she was lonely. The son and the youngest sister lacked of attention.
So, there was the tragedy. Lydia wanted to communicate but it was too late.What is more thrilling is that will Hanna became the replacement of her sister? Will her mother treat her just like she treated Lydia by forcing her to study? And will Hanna, in fear of losing her mother say "Yes" as Lydia did?
If Lydia wasn't a Chinese girl, would all these happen?
