写作本身是有规范可循的，学术写作尤其讲究范式。学术评论文（Persuasive writing） 很少有凭空去评论一件事儿的，都是参加讨论一件事儿，有一些自己的观点。开始学习时，模仿范式很重要。

例如，学术评论文一般是先要概括各派的观点，然后加以评论。概述别人观点就有一套 “八股”：先挑题，然后分别概述正反两个观点，然后再点题。

北外曹文教授贴过一篇他儿子班孩子写的评论文，是评论 The Guardian 的一篇关于 PISA 测试的文章。我让孩子们也写了一篇，不过我们加了一点难度，综合两篇文章，一篇是 The Guardian 的文章，另一篇是一个美国民间智库对2012 PISA考试的细化分析的原文（中文版的讨论链接在这里）。这是其中一个孩子写的综述观点开篇段落，结构完全是套了一个范式（多谢点儿允许俺贴在这里的哈哈）

蓝色是挑题部分，橘色是第一个观点，绿色是第二种观点，红色是点题。

In recent discussions of the new 2012 PISA result where Shanghai students far outperformed students from other participating nations in science, reading and math, a controversial issue has been whether Chinese education system, or for that matter, Asian education system in general, is superior in turning out students with stellar academic performance. On the one hand, some argue that it is, for PISA supposedly measures students' problem solving skills, critical thinking abilities as well as content knowledge. From this perspective, Chinese education system or at least many of its practices merit a close examination for the benefit of the west. On the other hand, however, others argue that Chinese education system emphasizes primarily on test-taking and encourages rote learning which measure up in standardized tests better than it really is. In the words of one of this view’s proponents, appeared in The Guardian,“Their model would be a nightmare for US schools.” According to this view, Chinese education system stifles creativity, discourages critical thinking, and it is, in its essence, elitist system that churns out star students at the expense of many ruined young lives. In summary, the the issue is whether the Chinese education system, as it is measured by PISA, is superior to the Western system, especially the American system.

因为文章总体上是要同意第二个 The Guardian 的观点，所以在概述两个观点时用了一些手法，概述第一个观点时用了 supposedly 这个词，一个非常有倾向性的词呵呵。概述 The Guardian 的观点之前，引用了一句 The Guardian 的原文，这样潜在地给了这篇文章更多可信度。这都算技巧。

概述别人观点有很多种套路，这段是概述两个对立观点的。其它还有如：两个相互支持观点，两个相互补充的观点，一个人部分同意另一个人论点，一正一反一中立三个论点的，等等。。。

搞明白这些学术对话的结构，是学术写作的关键，更是阅读理解的关键。极个别孩子看多了自己能悟出来，不过能悟出来的不多。所以直接教学最高效。

最后说一下写概述这事儿。概述能力是最基本的阅读写作能力，也是最能反映一个人的阅读写作功底的能力之一。俺娃的拉丁老师教很多国际学校高年级孩子，他跟我说过中国孩子普遍缺乏良好的概述能力。（他还说过，他很多同学挣外快的方式之一就是给大公司的各种大文件写概述）。我家邻居是学英文文学的，在律师行工作，他说就是写案例概述（Legal summary or précis)。

逻辑清晰，表达简洁有天赋的成分，但多数孩子经过系统的训练可以掌握概述这个技能。
