Richard Scarry’s Busytown comes to life courtesy of Simon & Schuster Interactive. From Huckle Cat to Lowly Worm to Dr. Diane, many of the characters from Scarry’s line of children’s books are on hand to help children learn and have fun.
Twelve playgrounds are featured, each of them a place to learn and reinforce skills. From moving Bananas Gorilla around a maze to find his bananas to helping Huckle Cat serve food and drinks at Bruno’s Deli to delivering items to various Busytown stores, there is plenty to see and do. There is even a chance to sing along with some tunes at the Busy Tunes Jukebox.
Among the skills taught in Busytown are adding and subtracting, problem solving, reading, body parts identification, measuring, and counting. This program meets guidelines set by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
