[方法探讨] Using Symbols, What do you think of this learning method?

I don't know where you are, but actually in US, some psychologists have carried out experiments in training chimpanzees to learn languages through paintings and icons. Those champanzees actually did learned some phrases and sentences through the experiments and were able to communicate with psychologists to some extent. 'So, when it is good for chimpanzees, will it be good for kids?' There has been some discussions and debates on this issue. My personal opinion is that it would work if these icons and pictures make sense.

as to me, symbols linked to words are especiallly useful for the beginners, but we dont have to hold this one way tighty and forget other ways.

sometimes we use some symbols when  we're  taking notes.

But it isn't a good method to learn English.

我联想到爸妈网里好像有基本picture reader， board books。请问各位老师和同学，这样的Picture reader对于学习英语怎么样呢。

I don't think this is the same as mine.
I will check with my friend where she get these materials.
