没有语法错误, 只有拼写错误.
能把quite拼写成quit, 当然也能把lot拼写成lots.
唯一的区别是: 一个漏了个 ...
quit是我的typo.
software does not have plural form. Never add \'s\'. But I think \"lot of software\" means lot of software products. So it is ok to use \"are\" instead of \'\"is\"
根据大家的纠错，我改成了
A lot of software are available. But only less than ten are quite useful.
但第二句还不是我想要的。

其实, 从一开始就想跟你提个意见的 - 既然开讲坛, 就在主贴里把问题说清楚:
1. 问题是什么?
2. 如何解决?
3. 为什么?
但我想直接意见未必能听得进去, 因为我关注了一下, 你的所有讲坛的主帖里都只列出了问题. 大有考人之嫌弃. 你看见别人这样的帖子会怎样想?
所以我觉得还是跟你抬抬杠比较好, 看你倒底能不能说清楚.
说实在的, 来这儿的人分369等, 水平有高有低.
稍微有点儿水平的, 还真的不屑于回答你的问题, 真心想学习的, 又不能在你的主帖里找到答案. 谁也不可能把论坛里的跟帖一一看完.
所以, 真想开个讲坛, 告诉大家点儿东西的话, 就直接在主帖里把主题都讲透了.
我这帖算是讲坛的最后一个捣蛋帖吧. 以后就只看不说话了.

好像 LZ 自己也混淆了, 大家都知道 fewer 描述 countable noun , 而 less 是描述 uncountable noun. LZ 这句话 less than ten 是描述什么? 是 software 吗? 那 software 是 uncountable, 用 less 并无不妥. 因为 Only less than 10 software are quite usefui 语法没问题
如果 less 是形容数字少于10, 那我真没听说过 fewer than 10

数学里\"6 is less than 10\" is absolutely correct.
你可以说software不可数，但我用小于10说明我认为software是可数的， 用fewer比less要规范多了。

fewer 描述 countable noun , 而 less 是描述 uncountable noun. Fewer and less 是放在名词前面.
你举的两个例子
They have fewer than three children
Fewer than 10 people showed up
都是描述 countable noun.
如果你能引证一句子
fewer than 10 [ uncountable noun] ..... 那你的说法就成立
是不是应该这样写：
A lot of softwares are available.
or
Lots of softwares are available.
Only less than ten of them are quite useful.
