[其他] 老师每星期一封邮件，给每个家长

We wanted to remind you that tomorrow, Friday, November 8th , there is no school as it is a District Closure Day. As well, there is no school on Monday, November 11th due to it being Remembrance Day. Please enjoy this time that you have with your children and try to take advantage of any “family time” you may have. We appreciate that lives can get busy with commitments, sports, schooling, church, appointments etc., but we encourage you to share quality time with your children. Play a board game, watch a movie, go for a walk, shoots some hoops, play cards, craft together, bake or cook together, or simply talk over a nice meal. Enjoy this time with your children – it is precious!
Have a wonderful long weekend!

我们家昨天和今天去了温哥华的市中心和公园，都是GPS导着去的，一路探险，总算找到了，并安全回家。

这是上星期的信：

As of late, the Summit Staff have started to notice ‘tired eyes’ among our students. Please help us to ensure your children are getting enough sleep each night, so they are rested and alert at school. Children of this age group need 9 – 9.5 hours of sleep per night. Try to make sure your child hits this mark most of the time. One way to do this is to maintain tech-free bedrooms. Keep computers, laptops, televisions, and gaming equipment in common areas and not in your child’s room.

This week, students received their Interim Report Cards. Please remember this is only a snapshot of where your child is at. If your child is not yet within expectations or is minimally meeting expectations, it is our goal that by the end of Grade 8, they will hopefully be meeting expectations. For this past interim report, “meeting expectations” covered the letter grades of C+, B & A. If you have any concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s teacher. Also, if you have not already done so, please sign and return the bottom portion of the report to your child’s teacher.

Does your child have a place in your home that is conducive to homework completion and studying? Often teenagers will study with the TV on, their earphones in, the computer on, and their cellphone right beside them. Unfortunately, all of these electronic extras can serve as a distraction. Encourage your child to choose a quiet place to study and do homework. Find an area in your home that is free of distraction where your teen can concentrate. This will help them to work effectively and efficiently. Leave them to work on their homework independently, but be available to help if your child has a question.

Are you finding out about your child’s tests, assignments, projects etc. after they’ve already happened? Is your child having a hard time remembering what they have for homework and when it is due? If so, a family calendar or a personal calendar, posted in a central place, is a great way to organize schedules, extra –curricular activities and homework due dates. This way, your child can see when they have a busy week approaching and can manage their time effectively. Encouraging your child to add to the calendar and check it daily, will help them to become less anxious when it comes to time management.

LZ 真是提供了一个不错的学习资料。我以前都不知道打篮球，下棋可以这么说。根据LZ提示，修改一下。加入自己的学习资料
