Tree Fu Tom is all about the amazing adventures of a young boy called Tom in the wondrous, enchanted kingdom of Treetopolis, where movement creates magic and the audience can be superheroes too.
Programme Summary
Tree Fu Tom is about the amazing adventures of a young boy called Tom who, with the power of ‘movement magic’ called ‘Tree Fu’, can transform into a tiny but mighty magical super hero and travel to a wondrous enchanted kingdom called Treetopolis that exists in a tree in his back garden. Here he meets his magical friends: Twigs, Tom’s best friend and side-kick, a silly and energetic acorn sprite; Zigzoo, a bubbly, eccentric tree frog inventor; Squirmtum, an odd-job woodlouse with a heart of gold; Ariela: a beautiful but rough-and-tumble ranch-running butterfly; and Treetog, a Tree Fu Master and wise teacher. Set against the Treelings are the mischievous Mushas: comically bungling, no-good, foolish fungi, brother and sister duo Stink and Puffy. Tom and Twigs are inseparable as they become embroiled in amazing, action-packed adventures, which always lead to trouble, impending disaster and near catastrophe. When events run beyond their control, it is only with help from the audience performing Tree Fu moves and passing their magic through the screen that Tom can create spectacular Big World Magic and save the day! As the audience joins in with Tom, they too become superheros! All spell movements have been developed from those used to help children who have movement disorders and difficulties such as Dyspraxia, and the spell sequences have been designed by movement specialists/therapists to assist and enhance the development of all children – regardless of whether they have any movement challenges – at a crucial time in their growth.

Tree Fu Tom: aimed at assisting child development
Between the ages of 3 and 7 years old we learn the majority of the movement skills we use in our lives. If, during this time, children are not exposed to, and do not or cannot learn, the full range of movements they need then they can suffer long term negative effects. The movements of the Tree Fu spells that children are encouraged and guided to copy are designed to help teach children, and allow them to practise, as many as 12 key developmentally crucial skills/attributes that they need for all future movement. The spells are linked sequences of simple ‘foundation movements’, the building blocks of all co-ordinated movement. They are designed by child development and movement experts to enhance gross and fine motor skills, strength, balance, co-ordination and neurological development. These skills are crucial for all complex movement, from everyday activities such as eating and dressing, to education and communication skills like writing, to sports, games and any other physical activity.
Tree Fu Tom also aims to empower children and build confidence and self-esteem, we hope helping them to:

1. Harvest Antics
It's Harvest Festival Day in Treetopolis and the food attracts some hungry ants.
2. Twigs' Big Boost
Twigs greedily eats Ariela's special booster berries, which causes random growth spurts.
3. Tom's Fan Club
Tom is distracted by a group of sprites that hero-worship him and form a fan club.
4. Spincake Day
Musha mischief threatens to ruin Spincake Day!
5. Tom's Teddy
Tom loses a special toy bear and his search for it becomes an epic adventure.

Tom and Twigs find Rickety's old racing car and challenge the Mushas to a race.
