美国备受欢迎与敬重的畅销作家，著作超过五十本。克莱门斯为儿童创作图画书，也为青少年写小说。他最著名的作品是也是他的第一本小说《我们叫它粉灵豆─Frindle》，一出版即畅销，长踞《纽约时报》畅销书排行榜，在美国已销售超过两百万册，获奖数十次，并售出德、法、义、英、日、韩……等十余国版权。


克莱门斯从中学时代即开始写诗，他曾有一首诗被英文老师评为「太有趣了，这可以出版！」，开启了他后来的作家之路。他还曾当过中学教师、为歌手创作歌曲，也曾在出版社担任主编工作。目前则是专职作家，住在美国麻萨诸塞州。
