[加州语言] Wonder G2里的一个语法问题

Wonders G2 "Lighting Lives" 一课中有下面两句：
Solar panels are put on the roof of a building. The sunlight hits these panels and turns the sunlight into electricity.
后一句中and后面分句的主语应该是solar panels吧，可以省略吗？

turns 用了单数，所以主语不应该是Solar panels了

主语还是sunlight，是sunlight通过加热solar panels然后使sunlight变成electricity。

和楼主有类似的困惑——美国人真的不注意语法，我们在G2的阶段也发现很多原版教材的语法问题，比如缺乏定语从句的引导词等等，是在高考中肯定扣分的情况。。。

The sunlight hits these panels and turns the sunlight into electricity.

两个动词都带 s，说明主语是 The sunlight。但是 The sunlight turns the sunlight into electricity 肯定是不对的，应该是 The solar panels turn the sunlight into electricity.

或者：The sunlight hits these panels and turns into electricity.
