[初级阅读] John,英文阅读从5岁8个月开始

半月前，我半了皮卡书屋的会员卡。John的英文阅读之旅正式开始。
我们目前选择的是兰登书屋的Step into reading 3，John已经阅读了其中的几本，读过了就不再记录了。

那么从今天开始。

今天读的是《Arthur‘s lost puppy》，贴几个内页（图片来自网络，我个人比较懒）

重点讲了fair，stroller，leash，floppy
fair：an outdoor show of farm products and animals，often with entertainment，food and rides。
leash：a strap，cord or chain that you use to hold and control an animal。
floppy：soft and hanging down in a loose or heavy way
stroller有图片，就没再解释。

John默读一遍，朗读一遍。给他讲了上述几个单词，问了几个问题，学习结束。

    太强了，我家宝和你儿子差不多大，也开始办了会员卡借英文书。我们从绘本开始。只是泛读，没要求指读，希望能培养兴趣。以后要多多向你请教啊~~~

    好牛的孩子呀，我儿子现在连26个字母都认不全呢。我怎么觉得认汉字比认英文简单呀，我没觉得怎么教他，他现在已经可以自主阅读中文书了，但英文就差远了，能介绍一下经验吗？

    皮卡的书挺好，有中也有英，不过我们现在读绘本，不管中还是英，都没有教她认字，我希望到大班时能多认点字

    今天阅读Arthur in a pickle

    重点单词和短语
    hand in：to give something to a person in authority
    principal：the head of school
    step on the gas：something that you say to someone when you want them to drive more quickly
    steeple：a high tower on a church or other building，often with a spire on top
    jail：a building for keeping people who are awaiting trial or who have been found guilty of minor crime
    absolutely：completely
    bail：这个讲解比较费劲，瞎编个故事才讲明白
    diet：a regulated selection of foods, as for medical reasons or weight loss

    John的猜词能力不行，比如jail，其实看图片也能猜个八九不离十。

    应该是学了PHONICS吧，所以能自己认读了。

    刚开始是靠记忆的，后来他自己也知道些拼读规律，PHONICS没正式学，只让他看了看PHONICS kids的光盘。
    还是等他水平再提高些时再学。或者就这样边阅读边学习PHONICS也是不错的方式。
    这方面我还没想好，听说是我们的重点，PHONICS暂放一边。

    今天看的是《Twisters！》
    难度比较大，John只能阅读其中的片段。

    不会的单词超多，只能泛泛讲一下
    whirl：to move around quickly in a circle，以前在We‘re going bear hunt里看过，今天算复习了
    swoop：rush down。
    rip：to tear or pull something forcefully apart or away
    cab：the driver's area of a large truck or machine，找图片给John看，这样更直观。
    claw：在这里是动词，很形象，to scratch with nails or claws
    alley：a narrow passageway between or behind buildings or backyards
    collide：to crash together forcefully，often at high speed。
    gulf：an area of the sea that is partly surrounded by land
    swirl：To move with a twisting or whirling motion
    column：a tall thick post used for supporting a roof or decorating a building
    funnel：用图片解释
    smash：To break (something) into pieces suddenly, noisily, and violently
    crate：图片解释

    今天只看了这本书的1/3，明天继续。

    一直在矛盾该怎么给小朋友读原版书，简单的没问题，但是碰到生词多的，用英英解释好呢，还是中文解释好呢，英英就是有一个问题，自己首先要备足共功课，查好解释，这倒也非难事，只要下点功夫就行，问题是英英解释里也还会存在生词，这个时候就感觉方寸大乱了。。。。。。请问楼主是怎么解决这个问题的啊？

    真是过奖了，正是因为之前工作做的粗糙总是用中文来解释单词，John在辨析词意上就容易出问题。
    现在他储备了一些单词量，可以逐步用英英的方式了。目前的情况就是多数用英英来解释，少数用中文（比如bail）。有图片更好。

    玩了几天，今天继续哈
    《Arthur lost in the museum》

    阅读前，先给John简单讲了一下美国历史，拣他能理解的内容。
    重点词汇
    mumble：to say something in a way that is not loud or clear enough so that your words are difficult to understand
    pilgrim：one of the people who left England and went to live in what is now the U.S. in the early 17th century
    tepee：a tall round tent made of animal skin that some native americans traditionally lived in
    model：a small copy of something such as a building, vehicle, or machine
    creep：if someone creeps somewhere, they move there quietly and slowly

    今天闲工夫比较多，看了《Arthur's classroom fib》

    重点词汇
    fib:a lie about something that is not important
    march:to walk somewhere quickly and in a determined way
    brand-new:absolutely new

    Arthur tricks the tooth fairy

    loose：not fastened or attached firmly
    make up:to invent an explanation for something, especially in order to avoid being punished or embarrassed
    drag one's feet : postpone doing what one should be doing

    今天听了一集小乌龟《Franklin and the duckling》，John听不懂，只知道把小鸭子带回家了。后来看了动画才明白怎么回事，但细节还是不懂。用英语能把故事讲个大概，还不错。

    重点单词
    mind：to feel annoyed, upset, or unhappy about something               

    阅读后，让John复述，效果不好。又看了不知多少回，才复述完成。

    pen:         a small area with a fence around it, used for keeping animals in
    thinking cap:a state in which one thinks, especially carefully

    goal:         an area or structure that a ball must go into or through to score points in some sports
    blush:your cheeks become red because you feel embarrassed or ashamed
    riddle:         a question that seems impossible or silly but has a clever or funny answer

    今天发现John会拼很多单词了，或许不用特意学习自然拼读，在每天的阅读中加进一点点phonics，效果也不错。

    outfit:a set of clothes that are worn together
    statue:a human or animal image that is made of stone, wood, metal, etc. and is usually large
              The Statue of Liberty was a gift from France.
    sculpture:a solid object that someone makes as a work of art by shaping a substance such as stone, metal, or wood
    prison:a building where people are kept as punishment for committing a crime.
