Author Matthew S. Cox has produced another fun and exciting children's novel that fans of the first volume are certain to enjoy. Kelly's exploration of her powers and her relationship with her mad scientist father are developed further from the first novel, as is the conspiracy of the Nolmek aliens who turn extremely sinister in this slice of the action. Middle-grade readers will love Kelly's plucky nature and her humor as the plot progresses, plus the action scenes are superbly well described to bring every superheroic moment to life. I particularly enjoyed the atmosphere of conspiracy and secret-keeping in this tale, where Kelly tries to play whistle-blower against those who believe the Nolmek are good. Overall, Aliens Ate My Homework is an excellent continuation of the Ubergirl series and a highly recommended read.
