Sasha Sokolov is one of few writers to have been praised by Vladimir Nabokov, who called his first novel, A School for Fools, "an enchanting, tragic, and touching book." 萨沙·索科洛夫（Sasha Sokolov），俄国旅居美国后现代主义小说家兼诗人，1943年11月6日出生于加拿大渥太华，其父弗谢沃洛德·索科洛夫少校当时在苏联驻加拿大大使馆担任助理军事专员。1976年在美国出版的《愚人学校》让他声名大噪，从此崛起于世界文坛。
萨沙·索科洛夫，旅美俄裔的后现代主义小说家暨诗人。1943年出生于加拿大渥太华，在莫斯科长大并接受教育，曾做过记者、煤矿工人、夜班警卫和实验室助理等。他的代表作包括《愚人学校》《狗与狼之间》《帕利桑利亚（恐天象症）》等。其中，《愚人学校》是俄罗斯早期后现代主义文学的经典之作。
1976年，《愚人学校》经纳博科夫推荐在美国出版，引起文学评论界的轰动，至今已四十多年。其间，这部小说先后被翻译成二十多种语言，成为与布罗茨基、索尔仁尼琴作品齐名的现代俄语文学经典。
