晚上讲Corduroy，中文译名小熊可杜罗或灯芯绒小熊，儿子还挺喜欢听。其实故事很简单，一只小熊Corduroy的扣子掉了，没有人来买他，于是他去找扣子。一位叫Lisa的小女孩没有嫌弃Corduroy，把他领回了家。
Corduroy很孤独，他需要home和friends，可是因为他的扣子没有了，就被人歧视。这不就像现实中那些势利眼的人，因为你的缺陷、贫穷、平凡，就对你冷眼相看。Corduroy寻找扣子的行为，不就像我们要找回在滚滚红尘中的自尊心吗？可是Corduroy失败了。幸运的是Lisa接纳了他，两个人惺惺相惜。Lisa说：“I like you the way you are.”Corduroy也喜欢Lisa的家，虽然这里不像商店里的enormous palace，房间很小，只有一把椅子、一个柜子和两张小床，但有家的温馨感觉。Corduroy说：“This must be home. I know I’ve always wanted a home.”“You must be a friend. I’ve always wanted a friend.”一部短短的绘本，为我们诠释了什么是爱、朋友以及家庭，让我们感受到这个尘世上除了冷漠，还有一丝温暖，让在社会底层挣扎的人们，总还看到一线希望。
有点像卡尔森的《桥下一家人》，一个流浪汉遇到几个穷孩子，重新燃起爱和希望。
只是有个地方似乎有点问题。故事中讲到“Late that evening, when all the shoppers had gone and the doors were shut and locked.”后面居然写：“Suddenly he felt the floor moving under him! Quite by accident he had stepped onto an escalator-and up he went!”按常理，电梯在这个时候是不开的。算是吹毛求疵吧。
