Why the prices of products always end with a 9? (e.g. $599)
It is because of the people’s response to incentives. For instance, $599 is just one dollar less than $600. But people usually see this numeral of the price in hundreds, which means they care more about the first number in a price and neglect the rest. It is a kind of incentive that would mislead the customers to believe that $510 is similar to $599. Also, that may be a subconscious of people. Markets use this trick to devise the prices and to induce people to buy the product and make them think it’s not that expensive. Nowadays you can see prices end with a 9 everywhere.
