      25. Caillou Is Scared Dogs
Storyteller: How about a story, kids? This story is called "Caillou is Scared of Dogs".
Caillou: I'm gonna build the biggest castle ever. Done.
Storyteller: Caillou was scared. The dog sounded angry.
      Caillou: Mommy! Mommy. Mommy.
      Mommy: Caillou, what's the matter?
      Caillou: That doggy scared me.
Storyteller: The next day,  Caillou was looking forward to going to his Grandma's while Mommy did some shopping. But Caillou and his Mommy didn't know that Grandma was looking after her neighbour's puppy for the day.
Grandma: I have a special friend staying with me. Would you like to meet him?
      Caillou: Yes, please.
Granma: Caillou. Don't worry, Caillou. That's my special friend. I really think he'd like to meet you.
      Caillou: No.
Grandma: But Caillou, he's only a little puppy. Why don't you just come and see? I promise he won't hurt you.
      Caillou: Well, okay.
Grandma: See, Caillou? He's only a little puppy. And he's very friendly.
      Caillou: Yes, Grandma.
Grandma: Well, if you're scared, why don't we shut the door so he can't get out? Okay?
      Caillou: Okay.
Storyteller: Caillou was still a bit nervous, even though he knew the puppy was safely in the kitchen.
Grandma: It's okay. Hey. I have an idea. Let's read a book about dogs.
Storyteller: Caillou was enjoying reading about dogs with Grandma. And he was beginning to be curious about that little puppy in the kitchen.
      Caillou: He's barking, Grandma.
Grandma: We'd better go see what he wants, don't you think?
      Caillou: Maybe he's hungry.
Grandma: Who's a good boy then? Are you hungry? Here's a treat. You like that, don't you?
Storyteller: Caillou was still a bit nervous. But when he heard his Grandma  he decided he really wanted to see the little puppy again.
      Grandma: What's so funny, Caillou?
Caillou: He looks like one of Mommy's slippers.
Grandma: See, Caillou? He wants to be your friend. He's wagging his tail. It means he's happy to see you.
If you hold out your hand, he'll say hello.
      Caillou: That tickles.
Grandma: I think you've made a new friend, Caillou.
      Caillou: Hi, doggie.
Storyteller: What do you know? The puppy wasn't scary at all, but friendly and fuzzy and fun.
Caillou: Get it, boy. Good boy. Catch.
      Grandma: Shh.., look.
Caillou: Look, Mommy. I like doggies now.
      26. Caillou Goes to the Zoo
Storyteller: Know what time it is? It's time for a Caillou story. Well now, let's see what Caillou did today.  I think he met some animals. Today's story is called "Caillou Goes to the Zoo".
Zoe: Hi, welcome to the zoo. My name's Zoe.
Caillou: Are we going to see lots of animals?
Zoe: Oh yes. And we're very excited because lots of our animal families have new babies. Would you like to see some baby wolves?
      Caillou: Baby wolves? Really? Wow.
Zoe: See the baby wolves? Those are their noses.
Caillou: Why don't they come out? I want to see them.
Zoe: They were just born the other day, so they want to stay with their mommy.
Caillou: Oh, I wanted to see them.
Zoe: You know, Caillou, they'll stay with their families all their lives.
Caillou: Do all the baby animals stay with their mommies and daddies?
Zoe: Oh no. Most of animals leave their families when they're big enough. Would you like to see another animal family?
      Caillou: Yes, please.
Storyteller: Caillou liked the idea of animals having families
Caillou: Where are they?Where are they?
Daddy: They must be in their house, Caillou. I'm afraid we might not see them today. Although I think we might be lucky after all.
Caillou: Wow. He's so big. The rhino's as big as a dinosaur.
      Rosie: Rhino. Dino. Rhino. Dino.
Zoe: You know what, Caillou?  That rhino's not a HE, she is a SHE. And she has a baby.
      Caillou: Really? A baby rhino?
Mommy: Of course, Caillou. Even really big animals have babies.
Caillou: Look, look. It's the baby rhino.
Zoe: He's not very cuddly, but I think he's cute as a button.
Caillou: Yeah! A sea otter. It's a sea otter. They're my favorite.
Zoe: That little guy came to us when he was just a baby, Caillou.
Caillou: Does he have a famliy too?
Zoe: I'm afraid not. You see, his mommy died.
Caillou: His mommy died? Will he be alright?
Zoe: He'll be fine. But you know, because he didn't have his mommy to show him what to do, we've had to teach him everything. Even how to swim and how to feed himself.
Storyteller: It was the first time Caillou had seen a real sea otter.
Caillou: I wish we could take him home with us.
Zoe: Oh, you can't do that. He's almost ready to go back to the ocean.
      Mommy: What's so funny, Caillou?
Caillou: That chimpanzee looks like Grandpa.
Daddy: Ha ha ha. You're right. He does look like Grandpa. But you know what?  That little guy looks a bit like you, Caillou.
Caillou: He's coming to say hello.
      27. Caillou at the Beach
Storyteller: Come on, kids. It's story time. When Caillou was just a little boy of three, he went to the ocean for the first time. Today's story is called "Caillou at the Beach". Caillou's family was on vacation. It was his first trip to the ocean and the beach.
Caillou & Mommy & Daddy: The beach. The sea. We're off to see the sea.
Mommy: Caillou. Rosie. Do you hear that?
      Caillou: What is it?
Mommy: That's the sound of the ocean.
      Daddy: We're here.
Storyteller: Caillou was so excited, he couldn't wait to get to the beach.
      Caillou: Look, Mommy, the ocean.
Mommy: Yes. And look, Caillou, the sun. And that means sunscreen.
      Caillou: No, no. It tickles.
      Rosie: Bye, bye!
Daddy: There. That should do it.
Mommy: This is a nice spot.
Daddy: Who wants to go in the water?
      Caillou: I do. I do.
Storyteller: Caillou hadn't had swimming lessons yet, so he held his Daddy's hand tightly as they ran into the...
      Caillou: It's cold.
Daddy: It's all right once you get used to.
Storyteller: Caillou loved any kind of picnic, but a picnic on the beach was best of all. Caillou's sandwich had sand in it.
Caillou: Look, Mommy. Hey. That's my sandwich! Hello!
      Storyteller:
Caillou followed that strange little crab that lived in a shell, all the way to a tidal pool full of creatures from the sea. There were starfish and sea horses and sea urchins.
Mommy: Who wants to help me build a sand castle?
Caillou: I do. I do. Go away. Look, Rosie, like this and like this. Mommy. Daddy. Look.
Daddy: When the tide comes in, it's time for us to go.
      Caillou: My castle.
Mommy: Well, we'll have to come back tomorrow and build another castle.
Caillou: And we'll come back the next day and the next day and the next day and the next day...
      28. Caillou New Shoes
Storyteller: Storytime, kids. Let's see now. Today's story is called "Caillou's New Shoes".
      Caillou: Gilbert. There.
Mommy: Do you need some help tying your laces, Caillou?
      Caillou: No. My shoes hurt.
Mommy: Honey, your feet have grown. They're too big for these shoes. You need a new pair. Here, these will do for now. Put them on and we'll go to the shoe store right away.
Storyteller: Now Caillou loved to splash in rain puddles with his boots, but today it was sunny and he wanted to run.
      Caillou: Hi, Sarah.
Sarah: Hi, Caillou. Where are you going?
Caillou: To buy a new pair of shoes.
Sarah: We'll have to have a race when you get them. Bye.
Caillou: Bye, Sarah. I want shoes to run fast like Sarah.
      Mommy: Come on, Caillou.
Storyteller: Caillou liked looking at all the different kinds of shoes and boots. There were all kinds of sandals and lady's shoes, and even work boots.
      Caillou: These look fast.
Mommy: Which color do you like best, Caillou?
Storyteller: Caillou just couldn't make up his mind which color he liked best.
Salesman: Well now, before we decide on the color, maybe we'd better measure your feet. Now, let's see, you are now a size ... a size seven.
Caillou: Mommy. Mommy. I'm a size seven.
Mommy: My, your feet have been growing, Caillou. Now, do you want the blue ones or the yellow ones?
      Caillou: I want the...
Salesman: How about the green ones?
      Caillou: Green? Yay!
Salesman: We'll just put your boots in this shoe box so you can take them back home.
Mommy: Your new shoes are very nice, Caillou. And so are my new shoes.
Caillou: But you have to measure your feet first.
Mommy: My feet stopped growing a long time ago.
      Caillou: Race me, Sarah
Sarah: You're going too fast for me.
      Caillou: Race me. Race me.
      29. Caillou's Snowman
Storyteller: Anyone up for a story?
Girl: Come and sit by the fire. It's nice and cozy.
Storyteller: Let's start. Tonight's story is called "Caillou's Snowman".
      Caillou: Got one.
Sarah: Me, too. Let's make a snowman.
      Caillou: A snowman?
Sarah: Do you want to help me?
Storyteller: Caillou thought that was a great idea, even though he didn't know exactly how to make a snowman.
      Caillou: Yes.
Sarah: Why don't you start making the head? I'll make his body.
Caillou: Okay. "Gonna make a snowman. Gonna make a snowman." I can do that. I can't do it, I hate making the snowman.
Sarah: How's the head coming along, Caillou?
      Caillou: I can't make it.
Sarah: You can't? Don't worry. I'll show you how. We're going to make the biggest snowman in the world.
Caillou: The biggest snowman in the world?
Sarah: In the universe. I think that snowball is big enough. Let's make new ones. First, you have to make a tiny snowball. See?
Storyteller: Caillou liked having Sarah to show him what to do.
      Caillou: A snowball.
      Sarah: You did it. Stop.
Storyteller: But Caillou wouldn't stop. Sarah didn't think the game was funny any more.
Sarah: Fine. If you don't want to make a snowman, I'm leaving.
Caillou: No. Stay please. I want to make a snowman with you.
      Sarah: Now look. It's easy.
      Caillou: I'm finished.
Sarah: All right. Let's put out our snowman together.
We have to put it on top of this one, are you ready?
I think it will hold. Now we need a head. That's your snowball.
      Caillou: Okay.
Mommy: Hi, kids. I have a surprise for you. Look in the bag.
      Caillou: A carrot?
Sarah: We can use it to make the snowman's nose. Wow.
Storyteller: The bag was full of great surprise. And very soon the snowman had a big smile on his face.
Mommy: I have something else. Let's see if it fits.
      Caillou: Look, Sarah. He's beautiful.
Sarah: And he's the biggest snowman in the universe.
Mommy: Wonderful. Now, how about coming inside for a snack?
      Caillou: Wait.
      Mommy: What's this?
      Sarah: It's a snowball.
Caillou: No, it's a snack for the snowman.
      30. Cailou is a Clown
      Storyteller: It's storytime, kids.
Now, I wonder what Caillou did today.
Today's story is called "Caillou is a Clown".
Caillou: Guess what, Rosie? We're going to a parade.
      Rosie: Parade. Parade.
Caillou: We're going to see horses, drummers and clowns. I love clowns.
      Rosie: No clowns. No.
Caillou: Hey, Rosie. We're going to the parade.
Mommy: Oh, Caillou. I don't know about this.
      Caillou: What's the matter, Mommy?
Mommy: I don't know if it's such a good idea to go to the parade.
Caillou: Why not? Mommy, I want to go to the parade.
Mommy: There'll be clowns, Caillou, and you know Rosie's really afraid of clowns.
Caillou: No, she isn't. Not any more. I wanna go.
Storyteller: Caillou was miserable and angry. It wasn't fair.
Caillou: Why can't we go? Just because Rosie's a silly baby.
Mommy: Remember, Caillou, you used to be afraid of clowns too when you were little like Rosie.
Well, what are we going to do now?
Storyteller: Then Caillou had an idea.
Caillou: See, Rosie? It's not scary. Oh, Rosie, it's only a doll.
I know, Mommy. I'll cover her eyes when the clowns come by.
Mommy: Come on, Caillou. Let's go up to your room.
      Caillou: Why?
Mommy: I have an idea. Maybe we can go to the parade, but I need your help.
Storyteller: Caillou just couldn't imagine what Mommy's idea could be.
Mommy: Let's see. These'll do. Let's show Rosie that clowns aren't scary because they're only people wearing clown clothes.
      Caillou: Okay. Look, Rosie. Peek.
      Rosie: Peek.
Caillou: Look, hair. See, Rosie? Clowns are funny.
No, Rosie, like this. See? Silly cat.
Mommy: Look, Rosie, you're a clown. Beep.
Storyteller: So now Rosie wasn't scared of clowns any more.
      Rosie: Rosie, Look.
Mommy: Okay, kids, I guess we can go to the parade now.
      Caillou & Rosie: Yeah!
Mommy: Hold still, Rosie. Are my two clowns ready to go?
Caillou & Rosie: Yes. Let's go!
      31. Caillou's Special Friend
Storyteller: How would you like to hear about Caillou and a very special friend today?
Today's story is called "Caillou's Special Friend".
Caillou was playing with his special friend George.
Caillou's friend George was a very special friend.
      Caillou: We could play dinosaurs.
Storyteller: Only Caillou knew George. And nobody had ever seen him.
Cailou suddenly had a wonderful idea.
Caillou: Let's have a race. Look, Mommy. Look, Grandma. I'm having a race with my friend.
      Rosie: I'm hungry.
Grandma: Why don't you go and tell Caillou it's lunchtime, okay, Rosie?
      Rosie: Okay, Grandma.
      Caillou: I won. I won.
Storyteller: As Caillou tried to hide the mess, he decided it was all George's fault that the flower pot was broken.
      Rosie: Caillou. Caillou. Caillou. Lunchtime.
Caillou: Coming. George runs really fast, you know, but I beat him in a race.
Grandma: Where does George live, Caillou?
Caillou: I don't know exactly where he lives.
      Mommy: Caillou.
Caillou: But I think he lives in our basement. George's probably my bestest friend in the whole world, you know.
Mommy: Caillou. Look. I've finished eating and you've been talking so much you haven't even touched your food.
      Caillou:
      Sorry, Mommy.
Mommy: Maybe George had better go outside while you finish eating. Okay?
      Caillou: Okay, Mommy.
Mommy: Thank you, George. Caillou will be out soon.
      Caillou: See you later, George.
Daddy: Hi, Caillou. Can you come here for a moment? Do you know anything about this?
      Caillou: George did it, Daddy.
Daddy: Are you sure George did this?
Storyteller: Caillou's Daddy knew that it wasn't really George who broke the flower pot.
Caillou: Yes, Daddy. We had a race. And George knocked it down.
Daddy: Well, I think you might have had something to do with it too, don't you, Caillou?
      Caillou: Yes, Daddy.
Daddy: I'll tell you what, why don't you help me clean up this mess? And the next time you play with George, I think you both should be a bit more careful. Okay?
Storyteller: Caillou thought it was a very good ideam.
      Caillou: Okay.
Daddy: Good. You just hold the dustpan steady and I'll use the brush.
Caillou: George is very clumsy, isn't he, Daddy?
Daddy: A bit like you, huh?
Caillou: I really like it when you push me on the swing.
Daddy: And I really like pushing you, Caillou.
      32. Caillou Learns to Skate
Storyteller: This is the story of when Caillou learned to skate. It happened on a winter day, just like today.
Ever since Caillou watched a hockey game with his Mommy and Daddy, he wanted to skate.
So his Daddy made a skating rink in the backyard, and bought him his first pair of skates.
      Announcer: He shoots, he scores.
Caillou: I wanna be a hockey player.
Mommy: Good. But first we need to learn to skate.
Caillou: I can skate fastest in the world. Look, Mommy. He fell down.
Mommy: So I'll be skating with the world champion. That's great.
Daddy: See, soon you'll be able to skate like this.
Mommy: Okay, now the first thing you have to learn is how to stand.
Storyteller: Caillou discovered that skating wasn't as easy as he thought it would be.
      Mommy: Oh, Caillou!
      Caillou: Mommy!
Daddy: This should help until you get the hang of it.
Mommy: And now you're ready to skate.
Caillou: I don't wanna skate any more. It's too hard.
Daddy: I know it isn't easy. But I'm very proud of you for trying. Let's do it again.
Storyteller: Caillou was tired of falling and falling. But he did feel like trying one more time with his Daddy.
Caillou: I want to try again.
      Mommy: Good for you.
      Daddy: You're doing great, Caillou.
      Caillou
Oh, no. Look, Daddy. I can do it. Whoa! Yeah! Look at me.
Mommy: Are you all right, Caillou? Caillou, you're skating, you're really skating.
      Caillou: Look Mommy, I'm skating.
Daddy: Who wants some hot chocolate?
Storyteller: After falling a lot, Caillou was finally getting the hang of it, except...
      Caillou: Mommy. Daddy.
      Mommy: Yes, dear.
Daddy: I guess your next lesson will be how to turn. And then we'll have to think about getting you a hockey stick.
      Caillou: A hockey stick? Wow.
      33. Caillou Makes A New Friend
Storyteller: This is story of when Caillou went to the park with his Grandpa and he met a boy he didn't like, or at least, Caillou thought he didn't like him. Caillou loved going to the park. And sometimes he got to make new friends.
      Grandpa: Okay, Caillou. You're on.
      Caillou: I'll make another one.
Grandpa: Well, hello there. And what's your name, young man?
      Jim: Jim.
Grandpa: Well, Jim, this is Caillou.
Jim's Mommy: Would you like to play with Caillou, Jim?
Grandpa: I think that sounds like a great idea. Now if you need us, we'll be on that bench right over there.
      Caillou: I'm making a tower.
Jim: I wanna make the tower.
      Caillou: That's mine.
      Jim: You broke the tower.
      Caillou: No. You did.
Jim: I can make a new one.
Caillou: Grandpa. He knocked it all down.
Grandpa: Maybe it was an accident, Caillou.
Jim's Mommy: Jim's sorry, Caillou. Aren't you, Jim?
      Jim: But I fixed it.
Grandpa: And you sure did a good job. Now, why don't you two play nicely together, Okay?
      Jim: Okay.
Caillou: I don't wanna play that any more. I'm going on the swings.
Jim: Wait for me. Push me.
Caillou: No, I don't want to.
      Jim: You push me first.
Caillou: I don't wanna play with you any more.
Storyteller: Caillou didn't like Jim because he always had to get his own way.
      Grandpa: Caillou, what's wrong?
Jim: He doesn't wanna play with me.
Caillou: He always wants to be first.
Jim's Mommy: Now Jim, you know you have to take turns when you play. Did you forget?
Jim: I know. Do you wanna be my friend again?
Storyteller: So Jim and Caillou took turns with the pail. Then they took turns pushing each other on the swings. And by the end of the day, they were having so much fun playing together. Grandpa probably thought they'd never go home.
Grandpa: Okay, kids. Time to go.
Caillou: Just a few more times, Grandpa. Please?
      34. Caillou And Daddy
Storyteller: Are you ready for story time?
      Boy: Yes, we are.
Storyteller: Now let's see what Caillou did today. Today's story is called "Caillou and Daddy".
      Caillou: Bye bye, Mommy.
Mommy: Bye, sweetie. Now don't get into any trouble, you two.
      Rosie: Bye bye.
Storyteller: Caillou's Mommy and sister Rosie were going our for the day and that meant Caillou would be spending the whole day with his Daddy.
Daddy: That's what I like. A good strong cup of coffee.
Caillou: That's what I like too.
Daddy: Do you remember our secret plan?
Storyteller: Caillou was helping Daddy make a special surprise for his Mommy.
Daddy: Do you think Mommy's going to like her surprise bookshelf?
      Caillou: Oh, yes. Daddy.
Storyteller: Caillou loved spending time with his Daddy like this, just the two of them together.
Daddy: Now this should dry very quickly, so we can... Oh, no.
      Caillou: Oh, no.
      Daddy: Oh, no.
      Caillou: What is it, Daddy?
Daddy: Well, in the first place, you're covered with paint.
      Caillou: So are you.
Daddy: Yes. You're right. And in the second place, I forgot to buy the blue paint that goes on top of this undercoat.
I'll tell you what we're going to do. We're going to take care of business. That's what we're going to do.
      Caillou: Yeah!
Daddy: There you go. Are you ready?
      Caillou: Yes.
Daddy: Then let's go and take care of business. Which color do you think Mommy would like?
      Caillou: This one.
      Daddy: Let's take it.
Caillou: Are we taking care of business, Daddy?
      Daddy: You bet we are.
Storyteller: Caillou and his Daddy decided to have a hot dog for lunch.
      Mommy: Hello. We're home.
      Rosie: Caillou! Caillou!
      Caillou: It's dry, Daddy.
Mommy: What on earth have you two been up to?
Caillou: We've been taking care of business. Mommy. Look!
Mommy: Oh. A bookshelf. It's just what I wanted. But wait a minute, it looks like I have a new book too.
      Caillou:
      I made it, Mommy.
      35. Caillou Grows Carrots
Storyteller: Come on, kids. It's time for another Caillou story. Now, let's see what Caillou's up to. Oh, yes. Today's story is called "Caillou Grows Carrots".
Mommy: Caillou? Caillou, why don't you go out to the backyard? Somebody's waiting for you.
Storyteller: Caillou was very curious to know who it could be.
      Caillou: Grandpa.
      Grandpa: Hey!
      Caillou: What are you doing?
Grandpa: I'm making a vegetable patch for your Mommy. Would you like to help me?
      Caillou: Yeah.
Grandpa: Just wait and see, Caillou. We're gonna grow all sorts of vegetables.
Storyteller: Caillou didn't really like vegetables, but he liked the idea of making a vegetable patch.
Grandpa: I'm giving you a special mission. Would you like to grow the carrots?
      Caillou: Yeah. Okay.
Grandpa: Here are the seeds for your carrots.
      Caillou: Where are the carrots?
Grandpa: Oh, you have to plant the seeds in the ground and give them lots and lots of water. Then they'll grow into carrots.
Storyteller: Caillou's Grandpa marked out a square in the vegetable patch where Caillou could plant his seeds exactly like Grandpa showed him.
Caillou: Yeah! Grandpa, it isn't working. There aren't any carrots.
Grandpa: Oh, you have to be patient. It might take all summer for the carrots to grow.
Caillou: All summer? I finished my carrot.
Grandpa: Good. Now, I'll glue the ice cream stick to the cardboard.
Storyteller: With his sign in the ground, Caillou wouldn't forget where his carrots were growing. Caillou went to the vegetable patch every day to see how his carrots were coming along. And after a few weeks...
Caillou: Carrot leaves? No. My carrots.
Storyteller: Caillou was wondering if his carrots would ever come out. It was taking too much time. But, a few weeks later...
Grandpa: Hello, Caillou. I just went by the vegetable patch. And you know what? I think your carrots are ready now.
Caillou: Really? My carrots? I wanna see them.
Grandpa: Ha, ha. I'm coming. I'm coming.
Caillou: Leaves again. No carrots. Just leaves.
Grandpa: Oh, don't be so sure. Just grab some leaves and pull. You'll see.
      Caillou: A carrot.
      Mommy: Enjoy your meal, everyone.
Caillou: I grew the carrots by myself.
Mommy: That's wonderful. Congratulation, Caillou. And look at Rosie, she seems to like your carrots a lot.
Storyteller: Although Caillou still didn't like vegetables, he thought his carrots tasted pretty good.
      36. Caillou's New Babysitter
Storyteller: Just look at Caillou. He's all dressed up. Let's see what's going on. This story is called "Caillou's New Babysitter". Caillou's Mommy and Daddy were going out for a special dinner.
Caillou: I wanna go with you.
Mommy: Caillou, it's our anniversary. That's a special day for Mommy and Daddy.
Daddy: But we have something special for you and Rosie too, a brand new babysitter. Isn't that nice?
      Caillou: I don't want a new babysitter.
Daddy: That must be Julie now. I'll go and let her in.
      Caillou: I don't like Julie.
Storyteller: Julie was a new babysitter. Caillou wanted his regular babysitter. So he made up his mind he wasn't going to like Julie at all.
      Julie: Hi, Caillou. I'm Julie.
      Daddy: Just press this button.
      Rosie: Bye bye.
Julie: Doesn't your Mommy look pretty in her dress? And doesn't your Daddy look smart in his tuxedo? Let's wave goodbye.
Storyteller: Later that evening it was supper time.
Caillou: I don't want any supper.
Rosie: I don't want any supper, too.
Julie: Caillou, you have to eat your supper.
      Caillou: You can't make me.
Julie: I have an idea. Your Mommy and Daddy are going out for a special anniversary supper.
So why don't we do the same?
Storyteller: Even though Caillou had decided he wouldn't like Julie, he was curious about this idea.
Julie: Come on, then, what are we waiting for? Now you look just as handsome as your Daddy.
      Caillou: Do I, really?
      Julie: You bet.
Storyteller: Caillou discovered he was starting to like Julie.
Julie: Now let's go and make Rosie look as nice as your Mommy.
      Caillou: Gilbert.
      Julie: Hold it.
Storyteller: Caillou liked Julie's dressing up game. But he still didn't care very much for salad.
Julie: Come on, Caillou. You have to eat.
Caillou: I don't want any supper.
Rosie: I don't want any supper, too.
Julie: Well, if you didn't want supper, why don't we have breakfast instead?
Caillou: How can we have breakfast? It's supper time.
Julie: It's easy. From now on, everything's gonna be the opposite way around. You'll see.
Mommy: Hi, Caillou. Hi, Julie. Did you all have as much fun as we did?
      Rosie: We had breakfast.
Mommy: Really? But what about your supper?
Julie: I think they could have their supper tomorrow, if that's all right.
Daddy: I'm sure that'll be fine, Julie. And now, if you're ready, I'll take you home.
      Caillou: No, Daddy. No.
Storyteller: Caillou had been having so much fun with his new babysitter, he didn't want her to leave.
Julie: Don't worry, Caillou. I promise I'll come back and see you very soon.
      37. Caillou Goes to a Theme Park
Storyteller: Are you two ready for an exciting ride? It's storytime. So let's see what Caillou did today. Oh, yes, today's story is called "Caillou Goes to a Theme Park".
Caillou: Are we there yet, Daddy? Are we there yet, Daddy?
      Daddy: Almost.
      Rosie: Are we there yet?
      Daddy: We're here!
Storyteller: Caillou was very excited because this was the first time he'd ever been to a theme park and he wanted to go on the rides with his Daddy. The first one he chose was called the Niagara Falls River Ride.
Daddy: Stand next to the board, Caillou.
      Caillou: What is it?
Daddy: You can only go on the ride if you're tall enough. Do you like it?
      Caillou: Yes. It's fun.
Daddy: It's a bit scary too, isn't it?
Storyteller: Caillou and his Daddy agreed that the River Ride was fun and a bit scary. Pretty soon, Caillou was having too much fun to be really scared.
Caillou: The water splashed us, Mommy.
      Daddy: Who wants dessert?
      Caillou: I do. Me.
      Rosie: I want some.
      Caillou: Yummy!
Mommy: Mmmm. Well, I'm not sure cotton candy is really good for you.
Daddy: Does that mean you don't want one?
Caillou: Look, Daddy. We're very high up. Look!
Storyteller: Caillou loved riding on the Ferris wheel. From all the way up here, he could see the whole theme park.
      Caillou: Daddy, Daddy. Look.
Storyteller: It was the biggest teddy bear Caillou had ever seen. If they could throw all their hoops over a wooden block, maybe they could win the bear. It was a very difficult game for Caillou.
      Caillou: It didn't go.
Daddy: It isn't as easy as it looks.
Caillou: Can you do it, Daddy?
      Daddy: I'll try my best.
      Mommy: Way to go.
Storyteller: Caillou really really hoped his Daddy could make the third hoop fall over the block.
Mommy: Did you enjoy yourself, Caillou?
      Caillou: Oh yes, Mommy.
Mommy: What was the best part? Was it the river ride? The Ferris wheel? I know. It was Daddy throwing the hoops and winning the bear, wasn't it?
      Caillou: Yes.
      38. Caillou's School Bus
Storyteller: I think we have time for a story before your bus comes. Now why don't we see what Caillou's up to today? Well, it's a story called "Caillou's School Bus". Caillou didn't go to school yet, but every day he waited to see the school bus coming down his street. Caillou really wanted to ride on the school bus with the big children.
Caillou: Daddy. When I can go on the school bus?
Daddy: Well, you won't go to school until after your next birthday. Let's see. This is today and this is your birthday.
Caillou: But I want to go on the school bus now.
Daddy: Well, I think we could at least go and see the school bus, even if you can't ride on it.
Storyteller: The very next morning Caillou and his Daddy got up extra early, so they could see the school bus from up close.
Caillou: Here it comes, Daddy. Here it comes. Oh, boy!
Sarah: Hi, Caillou. Are you coming on the bus with us?
Daddy: Caillou doesn't go to school yet, Sarah.
Mr. Washington: Well, good morning, young man. Are you coming to school too? Wait a minute. I remember you. I used to take you to school when you were a little boy.
Daddy: Hello, Mr. Washington. How nice to see you again! This is my son, Caillou. He wanted to see your bus.
Mr. Washington: Well, Caillou, I'm very pleased to meet you. And I'm looking forward to driving you to school when the time comes.
Caillou: I want to go on the bus, Daddy.
Mr. Washington: Well, I can't take you today, Caillou.
Storyteller: Mr. Washington could see that Caillou was very disappointed.
Mr. Washington: But maybe I could tomorrow as long as it's all right with your Mommy and Daddy. And I'll have to ask my boss if it's okay too. So I can't promise I'll take you.
Daddy: Isn't that nice of Mr. Washington, Caillou? Let's go and ask Mommy. What's this, Caillou?
Caillou: That's the school bus, Daddy.
Daddy: And who's this driving the school bus?
      Caillou: Me.
Mommy: Caillou, remember we have to wait till tomorrow to find out if you're allowed to ride on the bus.
Sarah: Hi, Caillou. It looks like you're going to school today.
Storyteller: Caillou was very nervous. He didn't know if he'd be allowed to ride on the bus.
Mr. Washington: Good morning. Well, we don't want to be late for school. Caillou. Come on!
Daddy: What are you waiting for? Go on.
      Caillou: Oh boy!
Storyteller: Caillou loved riding in the big yellow school bus.
Mr. Washington: We're almost home, Caillou. There's your Daddy waiting for you.
Caillou: Did you see me, Daddy? I was in the bus.
Daddy: I saw you. Now let's say thank you to Mr Washington
Caillou & Daddy: Thank you, Mr. Washington
Mr. Washington: Goodbye, Caillou. Goodbye. See you after your next birthday.
      39. Caillou Sleep Over
Storyteller: I'm so glad you can stay the night. And look, that's what Caillou does in this story. It's called "Cailou Sleeps Over". It all started when Caillou's friend Leo invited him to sleep over at his house. Caillou and his Mommy were packing his bags.
Mommy: Caillou? Now have we forgotten anything?
      Caillou: My pajamas!
Mommy: That's right! If you're going to sleep over at Leo's house, you need pajamas. Now, is that everything?
      Caillou: Yes!
Storyteller: This was the first time Caillou had ever slept over at a firend's house, and he was very excited.
Mommy: Get in, Caillou. I'm sure we forgot to pack something. But what could it be? Let's think, pajamas...
      Caillou: Pajamas.
      Mommy: Toothbrush.
      Caillou: Toothbrush.
      Mommy: Teddy bear.
Caillou: Teddy bear! We forgot Teddy!
Mommy: Good! Now you have everything. Are you ready?
Storyteller: Leo's Daddy had built a tree house in his garden and Caillou loved playing in it.
Leo's Mommy: Leo! Caillou! It's super time! Come on, you two! Time to wash your hands!
Storyteller: Caillou sure was having fun at Leo's house. But when supper came, Caillou started to feel lonely. He was thinking about his Mommy and Daddy and his home.
Leo's Mommy: Aren't you hungry, Caillou?
      Caillou: Yes.
Leo's Mommy: Let's see who finishes first and wins the race to dessert.
Storyteller: Pretty soon it was bedtime for Caillou and Leo. Caillou discovered that even brushing his teech was fun at Leo's house. But when it was time to go to sleep, Caillou missed his Mommy and Daddy and his home a lot. He was beginning to feel very sad.
Leo's Mommy: Are you two ready to go to sleep? Get into bed, Cailou! Goodnight, honey. Oh, dear. What's the matter, Caillou?
Caillou: I want to go home.
Leo's Mommy: I'll tell you what. Why don't we go and call your Mommy on the phone?
Caillou: I want to come home, Mommy.
Mommy: Hmmm... Does Teddy want to come home, too?
      Caillou: Teddy?
Mommy: Poor Teddy! He must be feeling very lonely stuck inside your bag. And he was really looking forward to sleeping over at Leo's house.
Storyteller: When Caillou thought about Teddy, he didn't want to go home any more. He fetched Teddy and gave him a big kiss.
Leo's Mommy: Does Teddy feel better now?
Caillou: Yes! Because I'm hugging him tight.
Leo's Mommy: Good. Night-night. Sleep tight.
Leo & Caillou: Don't let the beg bugs bite!
      40. Caillou Hurts Himself
Storyteller: Look at poor Caillou. He's fallen off his bike.

Daddy: Let's just make sure this is on properly. Okay?
      Caillou: Okay!
Daddy: Okay! Are we ready to roll?
      Caillou: Yes! Hi, Mr Hinkle!
      Mr. Hinkle:
Hi there, Caillou! That's a nice bike. Where are you going ?
Caillou: We're going to the park.
Mr. Hinkle: Have a good ride.
      Caillou: Thank you!
Daddy: What do we do now?
Caillou: We look both ways. Then we look both ways again!
      Daddy: That s right.
Storyteller: Caillou liked telling his Daddy how to ride across an intersection.
      Caillou: Wow. It's Sarah!
      Sarah: Hi, Caillou!
      Caillou: Hi, Sarah!
Storyteller: Caillou wished he could ride like Sarah.
      Caillou: Look at me, Daddy!
Daddy: Caillou! Watch where you're going! Are you hurt?
Storyteller: Caillou wasn't hurt very badly, but he didn't like falling off his bike while his Daddy was watching.
      Caillou: No.
Daddy: Hmmm. We'd better get you home.
Storyteller: Caillou felt much better when Daddy put on the bandage.
Mommy: It's clean now. Just hold on one more second.
      Daddy: How are we doing?
Caillou: Look, Daddy. I asked Mommy to put this one on.
Daddy: Mmmm. Is that another one on your finger?
Caillou: I asked Mommy to put this one on too!
Mommy: I don't think you need any more, do you?
Caillou: No, Mommy. Hi, Mr. Hinkle. Look!
Mr. Hinkle: Well, it looks like you have some dinosaurs on your elbow. And on your knee.
Caillou: And on my finger, too!
Mr. Hinkle: I'm quite sure you have more dinosaurs on you than any other boy on the street. You must be very proud.

      41. Caillou Looks for Gilbert
Storyteller: Where are you hiding? It's story time. Ah. There you are. Now let's see what Caillou did today. It's a story called "Caillou Looks for Gilbert".
Caillou: Ready, Gilbert? Help, Gilbert. Help. Yay, Gilbert. Help, Gilbert. The dinosaur's after me.
Storyteller: Caillou loved to play dinosaur hunter. It was even more fun when Gilbert joined in.
      Daddy: Caillou, snack time.
      Caillou: Gilbert, you stay here.
Daddy: Hi, Caillou. What have you been getting up to?
Caillou: I was playing with Gilbert. I saved him from the bad dinosaur
Daddy: Did you? You must be very brave to go dinosaur hunting.
Caillou: Come out, Gilbert. Let's play now. Gilbert, Gilbert, where are you?
Storyteller: Caillou was upset. He'd told Gilbert to stay, but Gilbert hadn't listened to him.
Caillou: Daddy, Gilbert's gone. He didn't wait for me.
Daddy: Well, he's not in here.
Caillou: And he's not in the living room. Where is he? I need Gilbert for my game. Gilbert, Come here right now. Gilbert. You're a bad cat.
Storyteller: Caillou was starting to feel very mad at Gilbert. Where could he be hiding?
      Mommy: What's going on, Caillou?
Caillou: I can't find Gilbert. He was supposed to wait for me in the living room.
Mommy: He's probably sleeping in one of the bedrooms. Let's go and look. We'll be like detectives.
      Caillou: Detectives? Hmmm...
Mommy: Well, if we're detectives, we'd better look for clues.
      Caillou: What are clues?
Mommy: A clue can be anything that helps us find Gilbert. So keep your eyes wide open.
Caillou: Is this a clue, Mommy?
Storyteller: Caillou had found the string from the dinosaur he and Gilbert had been playing with. That meant Gilbert must be nearby.
Mommy: That's a very good clue.
Caillou: Gilbert. He's not in here, Mommy.
Mommy: I think there's only one room we haven't looked in.
Caillou: My room. Gilbert, come out. Gilbert? Look, Mommy. The dinosaur
Mommy: Another clue. Well, you're a good detective
      Caillou: I found him.

Caillou: Mommy, are you asleep? Daddy, are you asleep?
Storyteller: Caillou was wide awake and feeling very hungry. He decided to have breakfast right then all by himself. That gave Caillou an idea. He would make breakfast for his family.
      Rosie: Boo! Caillou!
Caillou: Hi, Rosie. Come with me. I'm making breakfast for everybody.
Storyteller: Caillou didn't want to wake his Mommy and Daddy. He wanted his breakfast to be a surprise.
Caillou: Want some milk, Rosie? Hi, Gilbert. Are you hungry? Breakfast, Gilbert. Oop! Hmm!
Storyteller: Breakfast was a lot of work. Now Caillou had to set the table. Caillou wanted this to be the biggest surprise Mommy and Daddy had ever had.
      Mommy: What was that?
      Daddy: I didn't hear anything.
Mommy: I think Caillou's in the kitchen. Caillou? Everything okay, Caillou?
      Caillou: It's a surprise.
      Mommy: Oh! I see. Okay.
Daddy: I wonder what sort of surprise Caillou is making.
      Mommy: I wonder, too.
Storyteller: The cupboard seemed very full to Caillou. But where was the breakfast food?
Caillou: Mmm... Mommy likes cereal. Muffins. Daddy loves muffins.
      Rosie: Mama.
      Storyteller: Caillou wasn't quite ready.
      Caillou: Wait, Mommy.
Storyteller: There was one more thing he wanted to put on the table. He wanted his surprise breakfast to be just right.
Caillou: Okay, come in. It's a surprise breakfast.
      Mommy: It certainly is.
      Daddy: It looks good.
Mommy: And look, my favorite cereal is already poured.
Daddy: And there's a lovely muffin on my plate. And the butter dish is right here so I can butter it the way I like.
Caillou: I made you the biggest surprise ever.
      43. Caillou s Missing Sock
      Storyteller
Who wants to hear a story? Is this the story you want me to read?
      Girl: Yeah!
      Boy: Read it, Grandma!
Storyteller: Let me see what it's called. Oh yes, it's "Caillou's Missing Sock".
      Caillou: I need socks.
Storyteller: Caillou found one of his favorite socks right away, but now he needed the other one. Caillou couldn't find his missing sock in his room, so he decided to go and look in the laundry room. Caillou thought the sock might be in the washing machine, but he was too short to see. He decided to go and fetch a chair. Caillou tried to open the door, but it just wouldn't open and that was a bit scary
      Caillou: Mommy! Mommy!
Daddy: Caillou. It's Daddy. I'm here. it's okay.
Caillou: Daddy? Daddy. The door won't open.
Daddy: I'm gonna get you out of there in no time, you'll see. I expect the doorknob fell out on your side, Caillou, didn't it?
      Caillou: Yes, Daddy.
Daddy: Well, it didn't fall out on this side, but I have to turn it slowly. It's all right, Caillou. What are you doing in here?
Caillou: I'm looking for my sock.
Daddy: Did you look in the laundry room? Let's look together. Okay?
      Caillou: Okay.
Daddy: Mommy brought some clothes up this morning. Maybe she dropped your sock on the stairs.
Caillou: I wanna see in the washing machine.
Daddy: Good idea. Let's take a look. Can you see your sock?
      Caillou: No.
Mommy: Did I forget to close that door again? There we go.
      Daddy: There's nothing in here.
Caillou: I want to see. It's not in here.
Daddy: Oh well, let's go find your another sock. Your foot must be cold.
Caillou: But I want my favorite sock.
Daddy: After we find you a pair of socks, you can help me fix the broken doorknob if you like. Hmm? Uh-oh. Looks like someone closed the door again. Honey? Are you there? Hello? Let's call out together
      Daddy & Caillou: Mommy! Mommy!
Storyteller: Caillou didn't feel scared this time because his Daddy was with him.
Mommy: Are you in there? The doorknob came out.
Storyteller: Caillou's Daddy explained to his Mommy how to put the doorknob back in and soon afterwards she opened the door.
Daddy: I'd better fix this before anyone gets locked in again. I'll go and get my tool box.
Mommy: What happened to your sock?
      Caillou: I lost it.
Mommy: I bet I could put a smile on your face. Look in the basket. Here it is.
Storyteller: Once Caillou had both his socks on, he helped his Daddy fix the doorknob so no one would ever get stuck again.
      44. Caillou Goes to Work
Storyteller: Story time, kids. I wonder if there's any way I could fit right between you two, so we can all see the book.
Girl: What's the story about, Grandma?
Storyteller: It looks like a new adventure for Caillou. It's called "Caillou Goes to Work". Caillou was excited. He was going to go to work with his Mommy.
Mommy: The first thing we have to do is go through the revolving door.
Caillou: I can do it, watch me.
Mommy: All right, go ahead. But don't forget to get out on the other side.
      Caillou: Mommy?
Mommy: Oh, dear. Keep on pushing, Caillou.
Caillou: I want to do it again.
Storyteller: Caillou had never seen anything like this before. There were funny noises around and lots of people he had never met before.
      Mommy: Caillou?
Lady: You must be Caillou. Pleased to meet you. Welcome to the office.
Mommy: Caillou is here to work. Here you go, your very own desk for the day. And what would you like to do?
Caillou: I want to do work.
Storyteller: Caillou thought that working was writing on paper.
Caillou: I can work with that. I'm finished. Look, Mommy.
Mommy: That's great, Caillou. Just a minute.
Caillou: Look, Mommy. This is you, this is Daddy, this is Rosie and this is me. Take it, it's for you.
Mommy: It's beautiful, Caillou. Thank you. You did a really good job.
      Caillou: Can we play now?
Mommy: I can't just right now, Caillou. I have a bit of work to finish first. Maybe you can draw another picture.
Caillou: Hello, Teddy. Mommy's work takes a long time.
Mommy: Caillou, I'm not quite done with my work yet, but I have a surprise for you.
Caillou: Hello? Daddy. It's me, Caillou. I'm working with Mommy. I'm doing work. Teddy is with me. I love you, Daddy. Bye.
Mommy: What do you say we have some lunch?
Storyteller: Caillou and his Mommy took out their lunch and had a great picnic with Teddy.
Mommy: Why don't we put up your drawing on my bulletin board? That way everybody will see it.
Caillou: Yeah! I wanna do it.
      Daddy: Wow. It looks great.
      Caillou: Hey! Daddy!
Mommy: Here you go, I'll see you later at home.
Caillou: See, that's the office where Mommy works.
      Daddy: That's right.
Storyteller: Caillou was really proud to show his Dad everything he knew about the office.
Caillou: Wait, I wanna show you.
Storyteller: The doors were very heavy, so Caillou's Daddy decided to help.
Daddy: You really have to be strong to push these doors.
      Caillou: I know.
Storyteller: Caillou told his Daddy all about his day at work.
      45. Caillou's Quarrel
      Boy: Did not!
      Girl: Did too!
      Boy: Did not!
      Girl: Did too!
      Storyteller:
Are you two fighting again? Now why don't you stop that and listen to a Caillou story? Well, look at this. It looks like Caillou and Clementine are squabbling too. Today's story is called "Caillou's Quarrel". Caillou's friend Clementine was coming to play, so he was getting his toys ready.
Mommy: Caillou! Caillou! Come downstairs! Clementine's here! Hi, come in, Clementine. Come in. Say hello, Caillou.
      Caillou: Hello!
Clementine's Mommy: Now you be a good little girl Clementine. Play nicely.
      Clementine: Yes, Mommy.
Clementine's Mommy: And don't you cause any trouble.
      Clementine: No, Mommy.
Mommy: I'm sure she won't be any trouble at all. Come on in, Clementine.
Caillou: Wow. You brought lots of toys.
Storyteller: Caillou wanted to play dinosaurs with Clementine, and he was going to explain exactly how he wanted to build a house for them with his building blocks.
Clementine: Let's play families. I'll be the Mommy and you can be the Daddy.
Storyteller: That wasn't Caillou's idea of fun at all.
      Caillou: I wanna play dinosaurs.
Clementine: A teddy bear and a bunny! They can be our children!
Caillou: That's my teddy! And my bunny!
Storyteller: Caillou didn't like anybody touching his teddy and his bunny without his permission.
Clementine: Let's have a tea party for them. Come and sit down.
Caillou: Give them back. They're mine.
Clementine: Don't be silly, Caillou. Sit down and play nicely.
Caillou: I don't want to play nicely.
      Clementine: What's the matter?
Caillou: I don't wanna play families! I wanna play dinosaurs!
Clementine: Okay. Well. The dinosaurs can be our children too.
Storyteller: Caillou didn't like that idea at all.
Caillou: I don't wanna play with you any more. I don't like you anymore. Mommy!
Mommy: Whatever's the matter, Caillou? And where's Clementine?
Caillou: I don't like Clementine. She took my teddy and my bunny.
Mommy: Let's see if we can sort this out. Okay? Now can we all say we're sorry and be friends again?
      Clementine: Sorry, Caillou.
      Mommy: Your turn, Caillou.
      Caillou: Sorry, Clementine.
      Mommy: Come on in everyone.
Storyteller: Clementine's big brother Billy was a baseball champion and Caillou was always very happy to see him.
      Caillou: Hi, Billy!
Billy: Hi, Caillou! Wanna play ball? You're gonna be a great pitcher, Caillou.
Mommy: Come and have some juice, you guys.
      Clementine: Let's have a race.
      Caillou: Hey!
Billy: Caillou, you and Clementine are really good at baseball. We'll have to play again soon.
Caillou: Oh, yes! I want to play with you and Clementine again tomorrow. And the day after. And the day after that.
      46. Caillou's Big Slide
Storyteller: Snuggle up, children, it's story time. Wow! Look at Caillou. He looks scared. Can you guess why? This story's called "Caillou's Big Slide". Caillou was having a wonderful time at the playground.
Caillou: Watch me! Watch me! Choo! Choo! Choo! I'm a train, Daddy.
      Clementine: Hi, Caillou.
Caillou: Hi, Clementine. I'm playing choo choo.
      Clementine: Can I play too?
Storyteller: Clementine and Caillou were having fun playing choo choo train when Clementine had an idea.
      Clementine: Want to play slide?
      Caillou: Yes!
Clementine: No, not that one, that one.
Storyteller: Clementine was pointing at the slide the big kids play on. But when Caillou got to the slide, it seemed very big and very very high.
      Caillou: It's too high.
      Storyteller: Caillou was frightened.
      Clementine: Come on, Caillou!
Caillou: I want to play here first.
Storyteller: So Caillou convinced Clementine to play in the tubes instead.
      Clementine: Catch me, Caillou!
Caillou: Here I come. Got you!
Daddy: Hmm, it's getting late, Caillou. We'll have to leave soon.
      Caillou: Oh, no!
      Clementine: Come on, Caillou.
Caillou: It's high. But I'm not afraid. You go first.
Clementine: Hahaha! Whee! That was fun. Come on, Caillou, it's your turn. Slide, Caillou, slide. It's fun. Slide, Caillou.
      Caillou: I'm not scared.
Storyteller: But really, Caillou was very scared.
      Caillou: Daddy! Daddy!
Clementine: Caillou's crying. He's scared. I'm not scared. It's easy.
Daddy: What's the matter, Caillou? Hmm, well, it is a big scary slide. It does look like fun though. I know what we could do. Why don't you slide down with me? One, two, three. Go!
Storyteller: Caillou was thrilled, but Clementine wasn't impressed.
      Clementine: I went by myself.
Caillou: Yeah! I went all by myself. It's easy.
Daddy: Well, it's time to go home, Caillou.
Caillou: I'll be right back. One more time, Daddy?
Storyteller: But as it turned out it wasn't just one more time after all.
      47. Caillou Walks a Dog
Storyteller: Are you ready for a story?
      Boy: A story about Caillou.
Storyteller: Today's story is called "Caillou Walks a Dog".
      Caillou: It's the puppy.
Storyteller: Caillou had met this cute little dog before.
Grandma: Hello, Caillou. I'm looking after this little fellow again. He wanted to visit his friend, Caillou. Would you like to walk the dog with me?
      Daddy: Sure.
Caillou: Yippee! Could I walk him?
      Grandma: Of course.
Caillou: Look, Grandma. He's sitting down.
Grandma: He's waiting for you to tell him to cross the street. Say "walk" when it's time to go.
      Caillou: Walk!
Storyteller: Caillou loved it when the little dog obeyed his orders.
Grandma: Look what I brought for you.
      Caillou: He wants to play.
Grandma: Throw the ball and tell him fetch. He'll bring it right back to you.
      Caillou: Fetch! He did it.
      Grandma: Tell him drop it
      Caillou: Drop it! Wow! Fetch!
Storyteller: Caillou had a wonderful afternoon at the park playing with the little white dog.
Caillou: Woof! Daddy, you know what I really, really want...
      Daddy: What, Caillou?
Caillou: I want a little white dog.
Daddy: He's very cute, isn't he? But you know, Caillou, we already have a pet. We have Gilbert.
Caillou: But I want a dog. A dog that I can walk.
Daddy: Maybe when you and Rosie are a bit older, we could think about getting a dog. Good night!
      Caillou: Good night, Daddy.
Storyteller: Caillou didn't want to wait until he was older. He wanted to get a dog now.
Storyteller: When Caillou found his toy dog the next morning. He got an idea.
Caillou: This can be your leash. Mommy! Daddy! Come, see!
      Daddy: What is it?
      Caillou: A surprise. Look!
      Rosie: Doggie! Walk!
Storyteller: And now Caillou had a dog of his own that he could walk every day.
      48. Caillou Watches Rosie
Boy & Girl: What have you got, Grandma? Read it, Grandma.
Storyteller: Today's story is called "Caillou Watches Rosie". Caillou and Rosie were having lots of fun playing with Rosie's new toy. Lots of noisy fun.
      Rosie & Caillou: Moo!
      Rosie: Cow!
      Rosie & Caillou: Quack, quack!
      Rosie: Duckie.
Rosie & Caillou: Moo, moo, baaaa, oink, quack!
Mommy: Caillou! Rosie! Caillou! Caillou! I have a bad headache and I need to lie down for a while. Can you be a big brother and watch Rosie, so she doesn't get into any mischief?
      Caillou: Yes, Mommy.
Mommy: Thank you, Caillou. How about if you two draw animals instead. That way it'll be quieter for me to rest.
      Caillou: Okay.
Storyteller: Caillou knew that he could do a good job watching Rosie.
Caillou: We're going to draw now, Rosie.
      Rosie: Me, too!
Caillou: Rosie. No! No! Rosie! Give me that.
      Rosie: No! No! Mine.
Caillou: Stop it. Be quiet. Mommy will be mad.
Mommy: Caillou! What's going on here? Caillou, I asked you to be a big brother and take care of Rosie, not fight with her.
Storyteller: Caillou thought it was very unfair that Mommy was mad at him. He had done his best to be quiet. It was all Rosie's fault.
      Caillou: Mommy, I was trying...
Mommy: Rosie, you need a rest.
      Caillou: Rosie didn't...
Mommy: I'll be right back, Caillou.
Caillou: I, I, I don't want to be Rosie's big brother any more.
Mommy: Oh, Caillou. Now tell me what happened.
Caillou: I wanted Rosie to stop, but she didn't listen.
Mommy: It isn't easy being a big brother, is it? Now I'd better clean off that wall.
Caillou: I want to help you.
Mommy: That would be terrific! When I was a girl, I once had to watch my little cousin Bella when my parents had a party. And you know what she did? She squeezed out a whole tube of toothpaste. She got it all over herself.
      Caillou: That's very bad.
Mommy: And I got into trouble just like you did. Nice work, Caillou!
      Rosie: Caillou! Cow! Moo!
Mommy: Caillou! You're getting to be such a big boy and such a wonderful big brother to Rosie.
      49. Caillou Gets Sick
Storyteller: Well, hello there! It looks like it's only going to be the two of us for storytime.
      Girl: Surprise!
Storyteller: Oh, I'm not going to be alone after all. Today's story is called "Caillou Gets Sick". Caillou wasn't feeling good that morning. His forehead was very warm.
Mommy: I think you have a little fever. I'll bring you something to make it better. You'd better rest.
Storyteller: After a while, Caillou thought it wasn't much fun to stay in bed.
Mommy: Caillou, go back to bed.
Caillou: I don't want to be in bed.
Mommy: Here. This will make you feel better.
Storyteller: The next day something strange happened.
      Caillou: Mommy!
Mommy: Hi, are you feeling better?
      Caillou: Look!
Mommy: Hmmm. That looks like chicken pox.
      Caillou: Chicken pox?
Mommy: And I'm afraid that means you'll have to go back to bed. And you mustn't scratch yourself.
      Caillou: Why?
Mommy: Because it'll make those spots worse, sweetie. No scratching, Caillou! Your bath is ready. You won't be sick very long, you'll see.
Storyteller: The hardest part for Caillou was to remember not to scratch the itchy spots.
      Mommy: Were you scratching again?
Caillou: A little bit. What's that?
Mommy: A little something. Here, let me see your dinosaur a minute.
Caillou: He looks like me. I want to do it.
Storyteller: When Caillou and his Mommy were done covering the dinosaur with dots, he looked just like he had thechicken pox too. Caillou didn't like being stuck inside the house. He wanted to be outside playing with Rosie.
Caillou: Look, Mommy, lots of spots are gone. Can I go out and play?
Mommy: Not yet, sweetie. Are you ready for your bath?
Caillou: Okay. Can my dinosaur take a bath with me?
Mommy: He can watch, but he can't come in the water with you.
Storyteller: Caillou thought the spots would never disappear. But one morning they were almost gone.
Daddy: Hello, Caillou. Hey, your dinosaur has lost a lot of spots.
      Caillou: Like me.
      Daddy: Really? Show me.
      Caillou: Bye!
Storyteller: Caillou went to tell Rosie that at last he could play with her in the garden.
Caillou: Hi, Rosie. Look! My spots are all gone. Oh, Mommy!
      Mommy: What is it?
Caillou: Rosie has the chicken pox.
      Mommy: You're right.
Caillou: You'll take lots of baths and you'll lose all your spots like my dinosaur.
      Rosie: Yay!
      50. Caillou's Phone Call
Storyteller: Bye bye. Talk to you soon. Now, where were we? Oh, yes. We were going to have a Caillou story. Now let's see what Caillou did today. It's a story called "Caillou's Phone Call".
      Caillou: Mommy!
Mommy: I think I can be there, but I'll have to check my diary. Uh-huh.
      Caillou: Mommy, Rosie did something.
Mommy: Caillou, I'm on the phone. You're interrupting me. You'll just have to wait.
Storyteller: It seemed to Caillou that his Mommy didn't have any time for him, because she'd been on the phone all morning.
Mommy: Okay. Yes, please phone back right away. Bye, I'll be waiting for your call. Now what was it you wanted to tell me, honey?
Caillou: Rosie tore up a book. You have to come and see.
Mommy: Just a second, Caillou. Hi. Yes, I've been expecting your call. Just a second. I'm really really busy, honey. Why don't you go and play now? And I'll talk to you later. Okay?
Caillou: Look at my drawing, Mommy.
Mommy: Okay. That'll be fine. Bye now. Hi, honey. Let's see. I'm sorry, Caillou. I'm very busy on the phone this morning. But I'll be finished soon. Okay?
Storyteller: Caillou really wanted to talk to his Mommy, so he decided to phone her.
Caillou: Mommy, Mommy. I phoned you. And the phone rang.
Mommy: Why don't you answer it this time?
      Caillou: Hi. It's me, Caillou.
Storyteller: Caillou loved answering the phone. It made him feel very grown up.
Caillou: It's Grandma, Mommy. It's Grandma.
Mommy: Ask her how she is.
Caillou: Hi, Grandma. How are you?
Grandma: I'm fine, Caillou. How are you?
      Caillou: I'm fine.
Grandma: I was calling to ask if you'd like to come and see me this afternoon.
      Caillou: Wow! Yes.
Grandma: Come on in. You remember my friend's puppy, don't you, Caillou?
      Caillou: Yes, Grandma.
Mommy: Why don't you and Rosie play with the puppy while Grandma and I have a chat?
Caillou: Grandma. Look at the dog. He's jumping.
Grandma: Don't run, Rosie. He's getting too excited. Just be gentle.
      Rosie: Okay, Grandma.
Grandma: Oh. Oh, I'm sorry. I can't talk right now. I'll have to call you back. This little puppy does that every time the phone rings.
      Caillou: Why?
Grandma: He's afraid I'll forget all about him when I'm talking to someone else on the phone.
Mommy: That sounds a bit like a little puppy I know.
Grandma: What are you laughing about?
Mommy: It's a funny story. But I think I'll let Caillou tell you.
Caillou: It's a very funny story, Grandma.
      51. Caillou Plays Baby
      Girl:
      Grandma, read us a story.
      Storyteller:
Ah, a story about Caillou. Just look what he's doing. Today's story is called "caillou plays baby". All morning Caillou and Rosie had been busy. Very busy.
      Mommy:
Oh, no. How could you two make such a mess? Really. How about a little clean up before lunch, Caillou? Caillou, help me clean up, please.
      Caillou:
      But Rosie isn't cleaning up.
      Mommy:
All right, let's try. Rosie, it's clean up time. See? The toys go in here. That's right, sweetie. Now go get some toys.
      Caillou:
Mommy, look. Rosie's playing. It's not fair. I wanna play like Rosie.
      Mommy:
Caillou, Rosie is still too little to understand about cleaning up. I'll do her share until she's bigger. Caillou, you're old enough to do your own cleaning up.
      Storyteller:
Caillou did not think that Mommy was being fair. He was very angry.
      Caillou:
I want my milk in a training cup, too.
      Mommy:
      All right.
      Caillou:
And I want my sandwich in little pieces, like Rosie. Me too, Mommy.
      Mommy:
      A bib for you? Caillou.
      Caillou:
      I like being a baby.
      Storyteller:
Caillou thought that being a baby was much better than being four.
      Mommy:
I don't mind if you want to play baby, Caillou. But please don't be such a messy baby.
      Storyteller:
Caillou and Rosie had lots of fun playing baby after lunch.
      Caillou:
      A nap?
      Mommy:
Yes, it's naptime for my two little babies. Get into bed, Caillou, and I'll come tuck you in.
      Storyteller:
Caillou didn't really want to have a nap. But if he was going to be a baby like Rosie, he had to.
      Mommy:
Have a nice nap, Caillou. What's going on, Caillou?
      Caillou:
      I don't wanna have a nap.
      Mommy:
That's what all babies do in the afternoon.
      Caillou:
I don't want to be a baby. I want to be four again.
      Mommy:
Good. How about a game of animal snap?
      Caillou:
      Okay.
      Mommy:
I'm so glad you're four again, Caillou.
      Caillou:
      I win.
      52. Caillou Flies on a Plane
      Storyteller:
Are you two strapped into your seats and ready for takeoff. It's storytime. Look at Caillou. He's ready for takeoff too. Because today's story is called "caillou flies on a plane". Caillou was going on vacation with his family and this was the first time he'd ever been on a plane.
      Daddy:
      There you go.
      Storyteller:
      Caillou was curious about everything.
      Daddy:
Leave that alone, Caillou. We'll be taking off very soon. Just sit back, please.
      Mommy:
      Are you two behaving yourselves?
      Caillou:
Mommy. You have to sit back.

      Theme Song
You’re getting to be a big boy

      I’m just a kid who’s four
Each day I grow some more
      I like exploring
      I’m Caillou.

      So many things to do
      Each day is something new
      I’ll share them with you
      I’m Caillou.

      My world is turning
      Changing each day
      With Mommy and Daddy
      And finding my way!

Growing up is not so tough
      Except when I’ve had enough
But there’s lots of fun stuff
      I’m Caillou.

      Caillou, Caillou, I’m Caillou . . .
      That’s me!

      . . . And me!
      . . . And me!
      . . . And me!

      1. Caillou at daycare
Storyteller: It’s time for a story, you guys. Let’s see where Caillou went today. Today’s story is called “Caillou at Daycare”. It was Caillou’s first day and he was a little bit nervous.
Caillou:“I don’t want to go, Mommy. I want to stay with you.”
Mommy: Oh, so do I, Caillou. But you know Mommy has to go to work. And daycare can be fun. Hear that?
Teacher: Hello, I’m Anne Martin, the teacher. And you must be Caillou.
Storyteller: Caillou was scared and shy.
Mommy: Now I’m gonna have to go, honey.
Caillou: No, I don’t want you to go, Mommy.
Mommy: I’ll be back Cailou. Don’t be sad.
Storyteller: Even Caillou’s Mommy was sad to leave him at daycare for the first time.
Teacher: Here, Caillou. Have a glass of apple juice. Do you want me to introduce you to the other children?
Teacher: OK, maybe after your juice then.
Leo: Hey! Those are my blocks!
      Caillou: Mommy!
      Leo: hmm, your mommy’s gone.
Clementine: Hi, I’m Clementine. What’s your name?
      Caillou: En, Caillou.
Clementine: That’s Leo. He doesn’t like to share.
Clementine: Do you want to play? I’m doing cut-outs. See, here’s an apple and that’s a banana, and this is raisin toast, you can eat them though, they’re only pretend
      Do you like daycare?
Caillou: I like staying at my grandmother’s better.
Clementine: That’s where you stay when your mom and dad are busy?
Caillou: She is an artist and I get to play with paints, and brushes, and paper, and crayon, and chalk, and color pencils…
Clementine: we got all that’s stuff here.
Caillou: Oh, boy! I’m going to paint a…a robin!
Clementine:  I’ll do cut-outs of what robins eat.
      Both: That’s worms!
Leo: That’s a good robin. Could you teach me how to paint like that?
Clementine: Sure, Leo. If you teach us how to build a castle.
Leo: a castle has to have lots of towers.
Clementine: A worm has to have lots of twists.
Caillou: And a robin has to have lots of red.
Caillou: Here Leo, you can make a flag for the castle.
      Mommy and Daddy: Caillo.
Caillou: We have to make this tower higher.
Storyteller: Caillo was having so much fun playing, he didn’t even notice his mommy and daddy.
Caillou: Look, I’m making a castle!
      Both: Ha-ha-ha!
      2. Caillou joins the circus
Storyteller: Come on, it’s story time, kids. Caillou doesn’t look very happy. I wonder why…. Today’s story is called “Caillou Joins the Circus.”
Caillou: Yee! Gilbert,I dreamed about a tiger. Daddy’s taking me to the circus today. He promised. I’m getting dressed all by myself. Daddy will be so happy. Woops! Oh ouch! Oh, no. I forgot to brush my teeth. Look, I’ve got dressed all by myself!
Daddy: uh, I can see that. And you did a very good job. But it’s so early?
Caillou: I don’t want to be late for the circus.
Daddy: The circus? Oh no, Caillou, that’s not today. The circus isn’t till tomorrow.
Caillou: No, no, no. it’s today! I’ve got all dressed…it’s today.
Daddy: Come on. Caillou come downstairs and help me make breakfast.
Caillou: No, no I don’t want to…Vroom! Vroom! Silly old car, silly-silly-silly!Waa!
Storyteller: Caillou was in a very bad mood because he wasn’t going to the circus.
Daddy: Caillou, stop all these reckon. You woke up Rosie. I want you to come downstairs right now.
Storyteller: Even Caillou’s daddy was starting to get angry.
Caillou: Why can’t I go to the circus? I want to go to the circus.
Daddy: Let’s make toast. We an cut it into little duckies , like grandma does.
Caillou: No! I don’t want to make duckies. That’s for babies!
Daddy: well, then. How about a circus breakfast? We can cut circus animals out of toast to have with our boiled eggs. But wait a minute. We’re missing something. Something that comes before the circus’s animals. Now what could that be?
      Caillou: A parade? A circus’s parade?
      Daddy:Of course. That’s it!
Caillou: I can get the eggs. Woops!
Daddy: wow! If you wanted scrambled eggs, you should have said so….
      Caillou: Not my fault.
Daddy: I know, Caillou. It wasn’t anybody’s fault. It was an accident.
      Caillou: Daddy, the toast!
Daddy: Hot, hot, hot. Ouch, ouch, ouch.
Caillou: Ha-ha-ha. You can be in the circus, Daddy. You are a good juggler, ha-ha-ha!
Daddy: And Rosie can be the clown.
Mommy: Oh, what’s going on here?
Caillou: We’re having a circus. Do you want to be in our parade, Mommy?
Daddy: Oh, are you going to be the lady who rides on the horse?
Mommy: I don’t think so, sweet-heart. I think I’ll be the lady who marches back to bed.
      3. Caillou is afraid of the dark
Storyteller: Story time, Kids. This all happened when Caillou was just three years old. Today’s story is called “Caillou is Afraid of the Dark.”
Daddy: Good-night, Caillou. Have sweet dreams.
Mommy: Sleep tight, don’t let beg bugs bite.
Caillou: okay, Sleep tight. Don’t let bed bugs bite.
Caillou: Oh, beg bugs?! Ha, Mommy!
      Mommy: Caillou, what’s wrong?
      Caillou: Bugs. Mommy!
Mommy: There, all gone. They were just shadows.
Caillou: But what about this scratchy monster?
      Mommy: I don’t hear a scratchy monster.
Caillou: there is a scratchy in here. He’s making scratchy sounds.
Mommy: I’m sure you think you heard something. But there’s no need to be afraid of monsters, do you know why? Because monsters aren’t real! They’re just make-believe. Good-night, dear!
Caillou: I’m not afraid of Monsters. I’m not afraid of Monsters. Oh! Ah! Dad---dy!
Daddy: it’s OK,Caillou。It’s just your toy, Snaky.
Caillou: Yes, but there was a flying Monster and a scratchy monster. It’s in my room.
Daddy: You probably just imagined you heard something Caillou. I can’t find anything.
Caillou: But the scratchy Monster, it went “Crash-crash!”
Daddy: Try listening to the music box; it’ll make happy sounds while you’re sleep. Good night, Caillou.
Caillou: Ha, Mommy! Daddy! The scratchy monster! He’s got me! Help! Aaaa… a two-head monster! There was a…, The music box, I heard a -eeeee! And a scratching noise and a~~~!!!
Daddy: The wind was making the tree branch hit the window. That’s what was making the scary noise?
Mommy: See, darling. Sometimes ordinary things can seem scary.
Caillou: So the scratchy Monster was just the tree?
Caillou: look! The scratchy Monster! It wasn’t a Monster. It was just Gilbert.
      Daddy: That cat.
Mommy: You’ll be able to sleep fine now, dear.
Daddy: With a little help from Teddy.
Caillou: I hope there won’t be any more scary sounds.
Daddy: I know how Teddy can help make sure there won’t be any more scary sounds.
      D&M: Goodnight, Cailou.
      4. Calliou’s Friends
Storyteller: What’s the matter, kids? Our friends were supposed come. And they’re not here. Well, while we’re waiting. It’s story time. Now what did Calliou do today? Today’s story is called “Calliou’s friends”. Calliou was felling very sorry for himself.
Caillou’s grandma: Whatever’s the matter, calliou? You don’t look very happy.
Caillou: I’ve got nobody to play with.
Caillou’s grandma: Don’t you have any friends?
      Caillou: No, I don’t.
Storyteller: At that moment, calliou really thought that he didn’t have any friends. And that made him feel even more sad and lonely.
Caillou’s grandma: I’m sure. You must have some friends. Let’s see, if we can think of one. What about that nice girl, Clementine.
      Caillou: Clementine loves candies.
      Caillou: Can i?
      Clementine: Nope! Okay, want some?
Clementine: Oh, no~~~!! I’m putting the yellow ones in a row.
Teacher: calliou, that candy was on the floor. It’s not going in your mouth.
Clementine: Wait a minute. I have some more here. They are clean.
Caillou’s grandma: well, that’s one friend. Do you have any anothers?
      Caillou: Hum~~~!! I don’t think so!

Mommy: Caillou, dress-up is a people game.
      Caillou: A people game?
Mommy: You know how you don't like to play baby games? That's because you're not a baby. Right?
      Caillou: Yes.
Mommy: Well, Gilbert's a kitty cat, not a person. So he likes playing kitty cat games. Do you know what games he likes best?

      Caillou: Grandma, you're too big.
Storyteller: Grandma was Caillou and Rosie's favorite babysitter in the whole world.
Grandma: Hi, kids. What have you got there, Rosie?
Storyteller: After Mommy and Daddy left, Grandma played games with Caillou and Rosie. And then it was bedtime. While Grandma read Rosie a story and put her to sleep, Caillou washed his face and brushed his teeth. Then he went to bed and waited for Grandma to come and read him a story.
      Caillou: Grandma.
      Grandma: Once upon a time...
Storyteller: While Grandma was reading the story, Caillou got sleepier and sleepier.
      Grandma: Night-night.
      Caillou: Gilbert.
Grandma: Caillou was wide awake again. And he couldn't get back to sleep, no matter what he did. He tried rearranging his pillow, but that didn't help. It was summer and it was still daylight outside. How could Caillou sleep when his room was so bright? Sleeping the wrong way round didn't work. Caillou really couldn't sleep and now he was feeling quite cranky.
Grandma: Caillou, you're all mixed up. Your head is where your feet should be.
      Caillou: Grandma, I can't sleep.
Grandma: Well, I'm not surprised. It's too bright in here. And I can see why. You don't have any curtains. Where are they? Oh yes, I remember. Your Mommy took them to the cleaners. I have an idea.
Storyteller: Caillou was very curious about Grandma's idea.
Granma: There you are, Caillou. A night sky. Now you'll be able to sleep.
      Caillou: Thank you, Grandma.
Grandma: But if it's a night sky... I think something's missing, don't you? Ready, Caillou?
Storyteller: Caillou's night sky was so beautiful and dreamy that he fell asleep very quickly.
