The PAC (家长理事会)and Staff of xxxx Middle School are proud to announce the plans for the Grade 8 Leaving Ceremony to take place on Wednesday June 25th, 2014. Please save the date as tis is a daytime event.
We will have an altered schedule for that day. Grade 8 students are to arrive at the school just prior to 9:30am, when they will participate in a practice run-through of the Leaving Ceremony. Student need to come to school dressed appropriately; This is not a formal event, therefore families should remember that this a Grade Eight Leaving Ceremony and student can look forward to dressing fromally for their Grade Twelve Graduation. We are not encourageing students to spend a lot of money on new clothing for this event.
The Ceremony will begin promptly at 11:00am. Students are permitted to bring a maximum of 2 guests to ensure that all parents have an available seat and keeping in mind the safety concerns with capacity limits set for our gymnasium. Two tickets will be issued per studnet in the week prior to the event. The Leaving Ceremony should end at approximately 12:00 noon.
Immediately following the Leaving Ceremony, we have an optional dance. The cost of the dance is $5.00 should students wish to attend. Also, the PAC will be supplying pizza, water, and a special treat at no additional cost during this time. Only Grade 8 students are allowed to attend the dance. We have teachers and administrations will be at the dance for supervision. The dance will start at 1pm and end at 3:00pm. Grade 8 students who do not wish to attend the dance will be provided an alternate activity in the Band Room. Parents are expected to arrive to pick up their children as they would normally do so on a regular school day.
Parents are permitted to take pictures and videos of their child at the leaving ceremony, but due to privacy restrictions, we are asking that you do not publish them on any social networking sites.
We look forward to your attendance. We wish all Grade Eights continued success in their respective Hight School next year.
