其实对孩子学英语,我的确是有些功利心。中国教育的现状摆在那里,上了学的孩子,可支配的时间只会越来越少。因此在学前,帮助孩子集中火力攻下一个山头(我们的近期目标就是阅读能力,下一个山头该是语音和听力了,谢谢大家帮助我确立了方向),我认为就是胜利。不必为了学而学,而是利用所学的,去学习更多。从learn to read,到read to learn!
M: What did you do today?
E: I play. I dance. I sit very straight!
M: Do you have any candy?
E: No...
M: Do you have any sticker?
E: No,not at all!
E: I go away to the arctic. So many penguins are there.
M: 把你的脚拿下来!
E: You are a very good heat source. I'll stay with you!
第二天,
在浴室里洗澡:
Help! Help! The water is too hot, like boiling water! My face is in a fire! I can't stay in there!
我提醒他把水调凉一点:
Oh, that's better.
When I turn the water colder, I feel colder; And I turn the water hotter, I feel hotter.
Now I feel better. That's just in time!
曾经跟Enoch提过要不明年去一趟加国,Enoch想起来了就说:
Next year, I will go to the Canada.
I love my aunt and cousin.
他洗澡洗好久了还不出来,我等急了就说:I will enter my bedroom.
Enoch接着说:And lock the door? Please don't lock the door, I'll go into it.
说到他的小女朋友,Enoch说:
Tina bring blueberry to our class and teacher.
I don't like blueberry.
It taste bad.
And teacher bring something that is yammy for our class.
I want to eat.
我问: What is it?
E: I don't know. I love to eat it. It's 星球杯。
我说:I love blueberry. It is good for our eyes.
E: Today I eat lots of carrot.
Carrot is good for our eyes, too!
洗好了叫我帮他拿拖鞋:
E: Take my slippers here, mommy.
昨晚的输出基本是Enoch一个人主动自说自话的,比起前一天在我的提问下被动的一问一答,我觉得他自由发挥,说得更多更自然。
过了两天
还是洗澡。这好像变成我们固定的英文口语对话时间了。
我在浴室开了炉子,叫他把点心端进来吃,暖和点。
Enoch说:
Please open the door!
I'm coming!
我开了浴室的门出去关外面的灯。Enoch正在收拾东西,大叫:Help! I can't see anything.
他端着一大堆东西先进去了。看我没关浴室门,他说:Did you forgot to shut the door? You let all the heat out!
我们坐下来吃东西。
E: The oven can move the heat into our body.
The cake make me happy. I will eat it.
指着我的光脚说:
Your forgot to wear your socks. Your foot is out!
他拖拉着不去洗澡,我说:It's my turn to have a shower now.
Enoch抢着说:No,it's mine! All mine!
我叫他擦干:You can dry yourself, with the towel.
Enoch更正我,“你应该这么说:With the towel, you can dry yourself.”
把他从浴缸里拎出来:
E: Brrr! I'm catching a cold.
把润肤露擦在他脸上,他说:Blooming face frozen! (这是最近热读的<Father Christmas>里面的句型,Enoch把feet替换成face而已)
隔两天
我把Enoch抓过来脱衣服,他大叫:Help! Mummy is going to kill me! Horrible mummy!
最近读了不少圣诞题材的书,Enoch说圣诞夜他要为圣诞老人准备一瓶红酒,附一张纸条,上面写:For Father Christmas. Enoch say help yourself!
昨晚读神奇校车的<Sees stars>,是Mrs Frizzle and her class buy a star and name it after Dorothy Ann for her birthday present的故事,后来星球爆炸了一团云烟。Enoch叹气道:7 dollars for nothing!
E: In my home, we have a washing machine, and an alligator...
我大惊:An alligator?No no no,,,, I think that is a refrigerator.
E: Ha ha ha ! Yes!
An alligator lives in a river,, and land!
M: Still at your tooth brush?
E: Nearly done!
想提醒他快一点,明明记得最近一直看的<Father Christmas>里面有这句话,可就是想不起来,只好不耻下问小朋友怎么说。
E: Better get a move on!
查书,果然一字不差。唉,明明他看了几遍我也看了几遍,为啥我就是记不住呢?
小朋友晚上洗澡,嫌水太烫,自己去调冷了。
我说:You'll catch a cold.
Enoch嬉皮笑脸:No! I am catching a hot!
上周五按照儿子的要求打印了其中两本:<butterfly and the bog beast>和<out of this world>。这两集,Enoch都曾反复看过3遍以上。给Enoch读的时候发现,他看神奇校车原来并非我所想象的那样纯属看热闹,在没有绘本帮助下,他还是能看懂剧情,甚至记得其中部分人物对话。有些我念不清楚的复杂的生词,他居然可以教我!:o
因为昨天在晨晨的楼里看到笑妈建议说,“可以让晨晨用自己的话讲读过的书,你们每天读过的书都可以做这样的练习,比如frog and toad ,读完你让晨晨用5句话(第2次就用10句话、第3次用15句话)把故事大意讲一下,全用英文。”于是突发奇想我们也来试试看。和Enoch约好了,妈妈说一句,他说一句,说说MFD第1章的内容,每人说5句就结束。
我先开了个头:One day, my father met a cat.
Enoch急急忙忙的纠正我:不对,不对!是One cold rainy day, my father met an old alley cat...
我继续:The cat is very cold, so my father asked,"Would you like to come home with me?"
Enoch接下去说道:This surprised the cat- she had never before met someone who cared about old alley cat. The cat said,"I will be very pleased if I can sit by a (火炉怎么说),and have a saucer of milk."
我张嘴要接,Enoch激动又兴奋地阻拦了我,一个人兴致勃勃的说下去:My father said,"We have a very nice fire(火炉不会讲,就自作主张用file 替换了) to sit by,and I am sure, my mother will have an extra saucer of milk." My father and the cat became good friends. But my father's mother is very upset about the cat. She hated cats, particularly ugly old alley cat. "Elmer Elevator," she said to my father,"if you think I will give the cat a saucer of milk,you are very wrong!" This made my father very sad.
趁他喘了一口气的空隙,我赶紧接上去:My father bring the cat a saucer of milk each day,and he fed the cat for three weeks.
Enoch又来捂我的嘴了:But one day, my father's mother found the cat in the (地下室怎么说), and she was extremely angry. She whipped my father and threw the cat out of the door. My father sneaked out and found the cat. Together they went for a walk in a park.
......
我们后来又讲了一些,超过了原本约好的内容,连第2章也讲了一半。大部分是Enoch主讲,我补充。
我发现,
1、我几乎都是用自己组织的七零八落的语言讲,那些细节的词,我听的时候都听得懂,但是要讲的时候却要很费力去想;
而Enoch则差不多都是凭记忆,用原话讲,很流利。那些话就像是从他的心里流出来一样。
他对细节比我记得清楚得多。
2、Enoch能复述长句,比如:I used to hide in the bushes and talked to him when nobody wad around. He's got a long tail and yellow and blue stripes. His horn and eyes and the bottoms of his feet are bright red. He has gold-coloured wings.
能复述这样的长句,仅仅是他记忆力好还是他完全理解了这些话的意思?
3、像Enoch这样,完全不是用自己的语言讲,而是不自觉地复述了原文,也算是口语锻炼吗?似乎不太靠谱啊!
4、一个我自己的结论:Enoch记性很好,听力的程度也超出我的想象。能复述这么长的句子,包括这么细节的词,是我所没想到的。
MFD距离Enoch的程度,并没有我之前想象的远。
