In the morning, we had classes about English history, there has been eight houses for England's king. But before that there was another house that ruled for a very, very short time.
I think the seventh house's name is strange, it's too long and it doesn't seem like English at all. The teacher told us that this house is the house which Queen Elizabeth is from, but when the Second World War began, they changed their house's name into Windsor for safety.
At the end of the class, our teacher let us put a bunch of sentences into the correct order. I looked at one sentence which I cannot understand a single word of it. So I thought, "This must be the oldest one. "
Finally we finished putting all of the sentences from oldest to newest, and the answer came out. We are all correct!
In the afternoon, we rode on a bus to visit Shakespeare's old house in Stratford upon Avon.
We went inside the old house. The first thing I saw was a fireplace. I looked at the bit of red that's still on the grey ashes made by firewood. It looks real. But when I tried to look up the fireplace, I saw no chimney. So I guessed that the fireplace's red part must be made by electrical lights.
Then we passed a bed, some of us can't help it but touched it gently, this is the bed that William Shakespeare might have slept inside. But what Mr. Xu said really scared us.
"There's a ghost inside, " he said, half kidding. But when we heard the word "ghost", we pulled back our hands at once, we knew that there is no ghost, but thinking that somebody had slept in this bed hundreds of years ago, suddenly it makes us feel creepy. So we stopped touching for the rest of the whole trip.
We went up the curly stairs, and saw a tiny bed made in a basket, and I also saw some jugs and pots. At the attic, I saw messy drawing on the window pieces, I tried to look, but for me, it's just like meaningless lines.
Then we went to the church where Shakespeare was buried. His wife and daughter and his granddaughter were buried with him. But Shakespeare's grave was special. It has a piece of writing on it.
Later, we went to Bicester Village and bought our supper. At 8 o'clock, we sat back on the bus and it drove back to Saint Hilda's.
