Just before the weekend,I finished Science G2. The textbook cost me 2 monthes to read . I read every word and sentence, did all the exercises. At last I found I knew many words which I couldn't learn from other textbooks that were compiled by my fellow. Maybe this is why Chinese could not learn English as good as the native language young learners. Because we miss so many detail words, so we couldn't describe things vividly.
The second feel is the textbooks' writers are very professional. Although the science thoeries are very abstract and complicated, the writers use very direct way ------- pictures , graph, illustrations and chart, etc to present. Espacially the tests they designed for students are very simple and easy to operate by children themselves. All items explanation are very clear that were employed simple words. And the exercises are obviously selected for children, for not only has some questions need to answer, but also has some tasks to finish in different way to display, just as draw a picture, make a sculpture, organize an activity, etc.
The third feel is that the American adults want to teach the scientific methods to their offspring more than to teach knowledge. In this book there're so many pages are intruduce how a scientist to research. In each lesson beginning, the writers will ask students to do an exam then disscuss it with one's partner. Then to predict another situation. For a 8-year child, it should be very challengable.
Being an adult, I have already known most parts of the knowledge inside, so sometimes I felt boring to do all the exercises. But anyway, for a child in G2, it'll be suitable and attractive.
